Beautiful tropical feel, immaculate gardens, shame about ‘award winning’ restaurant

We loved the tropical feel and location of the resort however the ‘awardwinning’ restaurant is a total let down it looks and feels like a caravan common room it has no atmosphere and it miss matched furniture just made it feel and look cheap. The staff wasn’t very friendly and seemed flustered and bothered by their patrons. The Pub style order at the bar and lack of service was a bit disappointing especially when our plates were left not in front of us but on the side of our table. The food itself was great, generous and tasty. The deck had a much nicer feel and lovely outlook towards the ocean. The grounds were immaculate and perfectly manicured and a credit to whoever is in charge of them. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Our Room bure was generous in size, clean and comfortable however a bit dated. Our stay was enjoyable but urgent attention needs to be given to the restaurant decor and staff training to complete the experience and not just make dining a necessity but an enjoyable part of someone’s stay.

Can’t wait to stay again

This place is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the staff are friendly and helpful and the view is amazing. The grounds are a bit of a maze but it is a beautiful walk around and makes you feel you are somewhere tropical

The little cottages are nicely located within the very attractive jungle like landscaping but quite a way from the car parking making the luggage transport a challenge. The car parking is very accessible to the general public but there is some lighting. There are lots of facilities for families but with a one night stay, we did not access any.

We were booked to stay for 4 nights and left after 3. Hotel was advertised as disability friendly but slopes did not meet the standard for wheelchair access, many stairs and no lifts made access to restaurant and pools awkward for folk with a walking problem. Saw a woman with a wheelchair that she couldn't use to access the restaurant / bar and needed to be helped by family to enjoy what appeared to be a family get together. Rooms were not serviced - I expected that towels would be refreshed every 2 days along with a check on basics like toilet paper, bathroom amenities and washing up materials. Service in the restaurant was poor and food was poor quality and overpriced. I would have given a lower rating had it not been for the friendly and helpful reception staff.

We stayed at the resort with family for a milestone birthday. We chose the resort because of its great location, once there we didn't have to go anywhere else for activities or entertainment. The staff were welcoming and accommodating. But the property itself, particularly the rooms left a little to be desired. Between us we'd booked 2 x 2 bedroom villas and a single hotel style room. In our 2 bedroom villa (number 81) the air conditioner in the main room didn't work and could not be repaired. We were offered to relocate but did not wish for the hassle as we'd already unpacked and settled. The washing machine had a broken leg and could not be used. The couch was old and hagged and had no support left - could not get out of it once seated in it. The carpet was starting to lift in the main room around the ensuite door. The hair dryer did not work in the second 2 bedroom villa (number 98) or the hotel style room (number 76a). The air conditioning unit in next door unit 76 rattled loudly all night and kept our family in room 76a awake all night. For $260 and $420 a night we'd expect better care of facilities that could actually be comfortable and be used. We had dinner at the restaurant - food was good, bar service was good, meal delivery was terrible. 6 of our 8 dining party had nearly finished their meals when the last 2 meals finally arrived. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and did their best to make things better for us. We were compensated generously for the non working air conditioner but it was still disappointing given we stayed on 38 degree days. Property offers many activities and all the equipment you need to enjoy them. Water park was a big hit as was easy access to the beach.
