Unacceptable General Manager Zach Hiatt

This hotel has its pros and cons. I didn't select this hotel by choice it was assigned to me by Delta due to a flight cancel caused by the crowd strike outage. I would like to start off with the pros first. The location of the hotel is centralized. You are able to get to most of the shopping destination with in a 1 mile radius. The rooms were generally clean and they all come with refrigerators and microwaves. The lobby was compelling upon entry. I also enjoyed the Signature prime steak and seafood restaurant that's on premises. The cons of this stay. I had a very unfriendly encounter with the General Manager Zach Hiatt. He was trying to take advantage of the victims of flight cancellations by telling them that they have to pay $269 for an extra day if they wanted an early check-in. This was not done to all guest because I was part of a travel group and all people were not quoted this same charge. Most weren't quoted anything and then some were only quoted a $50 dollar early check-in fee. I asked this bad human why would he try to take advantage of people that have been affected by this crowd strike outage. It wasn't our choice that we were there. After sitting in the lobby for 2 hours with my daughter an helpful front desk person offers us a fair $50 early check-in. This didn't even complete the saga. Day 2 comes and the house keeper comes to the door and stated that we are scheduled for a checkout. This was clearly unacceptable because I clearly showed them the documentation That Delta provided showing a 2 night stay. I went to the desk the first time to inform them of the discrepancy and they informed me that it would be fixed. I leave to by my daughter and I breakfast at the on premise café by the time I get back I am locked out of the room and my daughter is on the inside sleeping. I go back to the desk to ask them to fix the issue and give me print out to verify they fixed the issue properly. This is the worst experience. I've ever had at any hotel. They really set the bar low.

Awesome view of Sunset. Staff was amazing from start to check out....Mahalo Nui to Everyone 🤙We will definitely make the drive here from the Eastside, sometime in the near future. Great customer service, awesome location, starbucks in hotel, great breakfast/brunch buffet, and Signature Prime Steak & Seafoof is also in the Hotel. Ala Moana Shopping Center is right there. Ala Moana Beach Part is right across the street.

Adequate and convenient

3 nights in July 2024; ocean view suite on the 15th floor. This was our second time staying at the Ala Moana Hotel. It's conveniently located for the kinds of things we like to do. It's adequately clean and comfortable but is definitely showing its age.
