The coolest hotel in London

Pro’s - Entire hotel manages to be incredibly young and trendy yet comfortable at the same time. - Rooms are well equipped and comfortable. - Mini fridge in the room is always a bonus. - Flatscreen with loads of gadgets included was a cool addition. - Staff were friendly and accommodating. - Late checkout is available - ideal for late nights or if you need a late departure the next day. - Really cool decor and fun additions and messages etc were all throughout the hotel. - Rooms layout was unique - had a table in the corner which could be used if you had guests over or just for eating / drinking. Bear in mind I had a medium room so small and large layouts may differ. Con’s - The bathrooms were a little compact - The free toiletries weren’t the best - bars of soap rather than shower gel. I get that is better for the environment, but they’re not the best. Then again there’s oodles of shops in the local area so it’s easy to buy shower gel / shampoo elsewhere. Things to consider - Whilst the location is good, it’s not that close to the nearest tube, about 12 mins walk from Bethnal Green. Overall it’s a fantastic hotel that strikes the balance between being young and trendy with downright luxurious without coming across stuffy or pretentious. I didn’t encounter any issues here and any problems I did have were easy to solve. It’s ideal if you’re here for a night out or exploring the city but want to stay east rather than west. If you’re looking for a base in East London near Shoreditch or Hackney, then I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Rooms better than the welcome

Came to check in later on in the day so it wasn’t busy at all. Welcome was atrocious. Well actually it was non existent. Receptionist was exceptionally rude, gave me no welcome and zero information about the hotel. Didn’t tell me when check out was, any options for breakfast or direct me to any amenities. The worst part for me was she loudly announced my room number. As a solo female traveler (and former Accor FOM) this is a huge no no! Usually I’d have asked for a different room but I was too tired to argue. The room was actually quite spacious. The air con wasn’t great - it didn’t actually go cold and the lowest temp was 19 degrees. I had a nice wee seating area and table and the bed was comfy. But given the appalling service, I wouldn’t be back!
