Serious Breach of Privacy and Poor Management Response

Unfortunately, our stay was overshadowed by a serious incident, when a housekeeping staff member entered our room while my family and I were inside. This was extremely distressing and a clear breach of privacy and safety. Hotel management later confirmed in writing that this occurred due to human error following an incorrect room-status check, and that the incident fell well below their standards. They also acknowledged that the issue was not escalated appropriately to senior management on the day and that corrective actions were taken internally. Despite recognising the seriousness of the incident and the distress caused, the hotel refused to offer any refund or goodwill compensation. Their justification was that the incident happened on the day of departure and therefore, in their view, did not impact the stay as a whole — a position I strongly disagree with, as feeling unsafe in your room fundamentally affects the entire guest experience. This experience, and the way it was handled afterwards, has significantly affected our perception of the hotel. I would encourage management to reconsider how incidents involving guest privacy and safety are addressed, both at the time and in their resolution.

Hotel contacted me to cancel our booking for August 2026. They told me they are closing at the end of January 2026. Whilst I’m glad to know this nice and early, I’d just like to warn others as third party booking sites are still accepting booking for this hotel.

Don’t book Christmas dinner..

Me and my partner booked Christmas dinner. Our table was booked for 4pm we received our starter 45 minutes later, then waited a further hour and twenty minutes for our dinner.. The food was cold and mainly consisted of frozen vegetables and frozen baked potatoes!! The service was very limited we complaint on several occasions but this was a waste of time. The manager said sorry we are very busy.. Hello it’s Christmas Day .. if your thinking of booking this year don’t waste your money and time.. Rubbish management

Interior is amazing… great space.. way over priced bar though. Place should be heaving but because of drinks prices it’s dead. £25 for two 175ml glasses of house white wine served by a moody waitress. Watered down cocktails … Didn’t stay for a 2nd drink.

The hotel is in a good location and appears very trendy.the staff are friendly but not really engaging just going through to the motions so they don't really hear what your saying. On our visit the restaurant/bar was very quiet in terms of people but very loud music so not that relaxing. We ate a fairly dull burger with the normal sides the table had been wiped but definitely not clean and with the dim lighting probably no one notices. The deluxe room is definitely not deluxe, barely any space to move around with the over sized garden furniture and tea stand taking up so much space, no wardrobe or dressing table or even a shelf to put makeup on etc. So I would say comparable to a budget hotel. The ensuite was an ok size but the grout and silicone were not clean. Filling the large kettle under the tap is not great. Definitely not a 4 star experience and with the dynamic pricing the price of your stay can vary dramatically.
