Wedding Celebrations

Craigp0017 Families - TripAdvisor review

A lovely weekend was enjoyed by all at Mitchelton as a wedding venue. Ceremony, drinks, photos, reception and accommodation all in the one spot made the day. Starting with the a person they were excellent. Knowledge, service, demeanour, engagement were all spot on. Accommodation standard while very good is beginning to fray at the edges and perhaps not demanding the premium being paid as compared other high end hotels, but having the position and convenience ensures they are generally fully booked, especially weekends. Food service rating is divided. The evening meals are excellent in the choice and quality. Breakfast is very poor for the quality of the establishment. Quite a tight selection to choose and the quality left a lot to be desired. The bacon side for example was dried to a crisp-perhaps that is how it is served but this requires calling out in the menu. The scrambled eggs were more akin to an omelette in consistency on two thin pieces of bread. Not a big choice at all. A real downer. Coffee is ok. For the offering, recommend eating in Nagambie.

A bit overpriced for what you get

Hotel was ok. Nothing spectacular. A bit overpriced for what you get. Rooms were clean and comfortable . Min of 2 nights stay on weekends was a bit annoying. Rates midweek same as weekend rates. Service was good overall not a bad stay but would not come back again

Fantastic bithday celebration at this hotel

I have been trying to book this hotel for some time but seems difficult to book on weekends. I was told by staff that they have weddings on the weekends and the hotel tends to book out. It was my birthday and Luxury Escapes had a promo at this hotel for week day stays so I made a 2 night booking. The hotel is beauful and of a high luxury standard. Toiletries and even toilet paper were all of a very high standard. As it was my birthday I was left a nice complimentary bottle of sparking white which was a a nice surprise. There is a nice welcoming fireplace in the foyer as well as in their restaurant so it has a very cosy ambiance. Muse is their restaurant where we ate their 2 course special for lunch, dinner and two breakfasts. Our meals were all great. Guests have complimentary tastings at their cellar door which offers very good wines. They have an observation tower on site called Ashton Tower where you can get great views and where there is no charge. In the basement is their aboriginal art centre which is worth visiting and it is also free. This hotel offers luxury 5 star accomodation and great quality meals and great very special occasions. The town is only a short drive away.

A great place to stay- if you can find it!

My wife and I were on a 10 day trip to Melbourne and then the Great ocean Road followed by a tour of central Victoria. The Mitchelton Hotel is a perfect stop over when travelling through that part of Victoria. The only comment we have is that as there is NO SINAGE to the motel only wineries it is very hard to find but well worth it when you do. Management.. Please put a sign with the winery sign that the hotel is also there.
