Peaceful and Relaxing

Spent a few days after Christmas in Mitchelton hotel, a luxury boutique hotel on the bank of Goulburn River. This large property is spectacular, very quiet and peaceful, lovely to wake up to birds chirping, green vines, native bushland as far as your eyes can see, you are instantly relaxed as soon as you drive into the property. The hotel itself is modern and contemporary, room is good size with a private balcony, comfortable bed, pillow menu, JBL speaker, a Day Spa on site has definitely added a touch of luxury, lovely cellar door for wine tasting or simply just have a glass of wine with a cheese board. However, the expresso coffee machine in the room is not the best, drips out a very small amount of lukewarm coffee, taste terrible, we ended up bought a few coffee bags from the local IGA, so we can have a coffee in our room at nighttime when the cafe and restaurant is closed. Staff are very friendly and efficient; we had a lovely stay, very relaxed few days just as we needed.

Wonderful spot for some R & R

Would recommend treating yourself to a stay here if you are in the area. Visited on a three day trip for family birthday - nice peaceful location, great rooms, a walking track and a pool (did not use the gym) - the two restaurants are amazing and you can enjoy a stress free time here. Good location for visiting surrounding towns - and you can enjoy the Silo Art Tour - where artists have created huge canvases on the grain silos in the area...

Overpriced

We were allocated a quiet room, as requested, that had a river view. Reception staff were friendly with the welcome glass of wine a lovely touch. Considering the cost per night, we expected a higher level of decor in the room and quality and size of ensuite.

The perfect out of town getaway

We received a voucher to stay at Michelton Winery Hotel as a wedding present. As this is on the pricier side we likely would not have come here without the voucher, however wow are we glad we did and boy is it worth the money. The property itself is beautiful with stunning minimalist design and warm and friendly staff. It’s the kind of place you can spend your whole weekend at the hotel and be entertained or explore the nearby township and local wineries and be just as happy. From the moment we walked in and were given a welcome glass of their own Shiraz by the fire we knew we were in for a relaxing stay. The room is spacious, beds comfortable and has all the amenities required for a comfortable stay. The pool setting looked beautiful but being winter and not being heated we were unable to use. It would be nice to have a spa or sauna option to allow you to use this stunning setting in the cooler months. There are two restaurants (one breakfast lunch and one lunch dinner) on the property and we were both impressed with the quality of the food. Staff remembered us here and always gave us our favourite table which was a nice touch. Happy hours are available and the bar at the sky tower opens of the night for a beautiful view and setting for a pre dinner drink or night cap, watch the wildlife and enjoy the sunset! Whilst we would not have checked this hotel out due to the higher price, having stayed here we can appreciate the value and will hopefully return and most definitely recommend to friends and family.

Lives up to the hype.

We spent two nights here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We booked through Luxury Escapes and this deserved the title. Friendly, informed staff, well appointed and very comfortable room. Restful environs - we so loved it here. The bed was comfortable, nothing was too much trouble. And the Muse restaurant? Beyond fabulous.
