Das Hotel liegt gut. Das Parken auf dem P+R des Bahnhofs Cambridge North könnte besser erklärt werden. Mir ist unklar, wieso für Gym+Spa eine extra Karte benötigt wird. Das Frühstück ist verbesserungswürdig. Die Frau, die die Zimmernummer vor dem Frühstück prüft ist furchtbar.

Lovely room, comfortable stay, great transport links! Only fault is no hand soap in bathroom!

Stayed here for one night with family. Location is ideal if you’re wanting somewhere with good transport links and not wanting to stay right in the city; not far from motorway and the train station is on the same site. We were able to visit Cambridge easily by hopping on the train. Excellent for parking. The room was clean, modern and the bed was huge. We also had a second bed made up which I believe was a sofa bed. The room was very quiet and must be well sound proofed! One thing I did notice however was that there was no hand soap in the bathroom, I had to use hand sanitizer that I had in my bag. Nice big walk in shower with Rituals shampoo & shower gel, no bath which was fine for us, maybe some rooms have baths? Would definitely visit again.

An absolutely terrible experience simply down to key staff being poorly trained!

The location, facilities and cleanliness tick all the right boxes but it's people that make the experience! My stay at Novotel Cambridge North Hotel is, by far, the single worst hotel stay experience I've ever had! Pool/gym area etiquette was non-existent and not managed. Outdoor shoes and clothing worn poolside with food and drink being consumed by people with camera-phones! Plus a total lack of parent supervision of very young children with zero appreciation of personal boundaries! So much for enjoying a relaxing break time there! Then of course the fire alarm at 3:30am which highlighted that staff are not trained to deal with fire evacuations and have no safety awareness! It was a shambles, with a complete lack of management or accountability from any on-duty staff. Not a single staff member followed any noticible fire procedures, with no fire marshaling, no help or support, and absolutely no urgency shown from staff. (They would be clueless in the event of a real fire!) Guests have to assume it's an actual fire, so need support, especially being woken by a fire alarm at 3:30am and having to put up with bottlenecks in fire stairwells due to zero Marshalls in action! Everyone left to guess if it was a real fire or not, and if and when they could re-enter the building!!! Even when prompted, staff (who stayed inside the building!) were reluctant to do anything to manage and provide clear communication to guests! I'm sure Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service would be able to assist in training staff in what to do in those circumstances, including how to keep fire routes clear and moving as well as how to manage guests once they've actually managed to exit the building! I'm surprised staff are not fire trained already for such a facility!!! 1 reception female, 1 evening restaurant male and 1 morning restaurant female, were the only staff that did their jobs well, but that wasn't enough to make up for other clear shortcomings. An absolutely terrible experience simply down to key staff being poorly trained!

Lovely hotel to stay at. Have been here twice now and will come back. Car park is half price on weekends, train into Cambridge is 4 mins and £3 return, pool and sauna are clean and lovely. Beds are comfy and room is a great size. The gym is also great and the restaurant breakfast has a great selection.

My views on this property are varied...we checked in at a very busy time and there was only 1 receptionist trying to deal with numerous new guests and problems. We needed to register for disabled parking and the young man tried and tried to do it for us but the internet service kept failing...so we don't know as to whether we might get lumbered with a large bill or penalty since we stayed for 2 days. If the hotels requests clients to do this themselves on phones (which a lot of older people might not even be able to do ) they have to provide a decent internet service. It is impossible at present. Whilst this was going on, people were waiting and waiting to check in...no second person available and no management about. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms very clean, however, the carpeting on the 3rd floor corridor needs either a very good clean or needs replacing. We were a party of 8 and had a very good meal on the Friday night...the service was good in the beginning, but then tapered off and we had to actually find someone to continue serving us...i.e more water and eventually desert menues etc. Breakfast on Saturday was brilliant, Sunday morning total chaos. ..a lot of Staff about but no-one designated to particular stations...it took ages to replenish empty platters, as the matter of fact, you had to ask for it. I felt sorry for the waiters, there were sent all over the place without any co-ordination. But, they were kind and still smiling... Still, we as a family were glad to have met up...and we might stay again, providing some of the above problems will be resolved. Elke Beckley & Family
