The housekeeping staff stole my money.

stayed at this hotel between December 30, 2025 and January 2, 2026. Because the outside area felt unsafe, I did not carry all my money with me and left part of my Brazilian real in my suitcase. My cash was stolen by the housekeeping staff while my room was being cleaned. I contacted the hotel, and they told me to fill out a form for the Brazilian police, but the link they sent does not work. It is all lies. I absolutely do not recommend this hotel. This is not worthy of the Mercure group. I will never stay here again.

Great stay overlooking Copacabana beach

Had a fab stay at the Grand Mercure, the location and proximity the beach is perfect. Absolutely loved being able to look out over Copacabana beach at the rooftop pool/ bar and whilst having breakfast each morning. Thank you, Joelma, for keeping our room nice and clean especially after our daily trips to the sandy beach.

We had pleasant stay at this hotel. The location of the hotel is right on the beach. Our room attendant, Joelma is great, helpful and very polite.

Hotel staff are very nice and kind, the rooms are very clean (with a special thank you to Joelma) . The hotel is right by the beach which is very convenient as well.
