Stayed 6 nights for my 60th Birthday. The Hotel is situated near the middle of Copacabana Beach and is just a hop, jump, and skip away from the Beach. Breakfast has a good selection of food and there are even deserts...........and the deserts are delicious. We ate dinner a few times at the same place breakfast is served and the food is absolutely delicious. My favorite is the Salmon Ceviche and my wife's favorite is beef on a skewer with a baked potato on the side. Check in was fast and staff was so friendly and helpful. Probably one of the best hotel staff, if not the best, we have every met. On our way up to the room, after checking in, we had the pleasure to run into Gui Mendes, the General Manager of the hotel. He gave us his number and told us to contact him if we needed anything or if anything was not up to our expectations. Well, everything was up to our expectations and then some. He is really a great guy and we are so glad we got to meet him. So, upon entering our room, on the table, there was a small Birthday Cake (my 60th Birthday) and Greeting Card. The front desk can arrange a taxi for wherever you want to go. They have a trusted taxi company they deal with. They helped us arrange a taxi to see Christ the Redeemer Statue again because the first time we went with a tour company, but it was rainy and we didn't get good pictures or see the views (fun fact - tour companies don't cancel if rainy weather). So, rather than book another tour in advance not knowing what the weather would be like when we got picked up, we decided to wait until the morning to see how the weather was. Luckily it was sunny, so we asked the front desk to book a taxi for us. Within 5 minutes the taxi was here and we were on our way to Christ the Redeemer Statue. The cost of the taxi (one way) was about 52 Reais (about $ 10.32) and he took Apple Pay. Ipanema Beach was about a 20 - 25 minute walk away. Upon checking out, the front desk arranged a taxi for us to go to the Airport. Thank you Bruna, Bruno, Alan, Bia, Gui so much for helping us to have a wonderful vacation in Rio de Janeiro. Actually more people that were helpful, but I forgot the names. We will definitely stay here again...........Carnival is on the bucket list.

This is surprisingly nice Mercure, above average. Next door to JW Marriott, right across the beach, well located. Fairly small, hence "boutique" in the name. Rooms differ greatly in size and amenities. some ar with large terraces/balconies. The value is great, in my opinion, however, as even smaller rooms are quite nice and tasteful. The service is fairly good and friendly. Restaurant onsite Ceviche is not bad at all for drinks and casual meal in the bar or veranda. I didn't care much for breakfast though. It was included, but quite mediocre buffet. Other small things: my Platinum status wasn't acknowledged, I wasn't offered upgrade or even complimentary drink without my reminder. Also, the front desk refused (at first) to provide free bottled water. Well, this is basic necessity, and I never had to pay for water in Accor Hotels. They finally gave me one free boxed water, and it looked like they did me a favor, lol! All in all, quite a viable option in Copacabana.

The hotel is small but very nice. The staff was very helpful and the location is right in the middle of copacabana across from beach. Possible to walk to many sites if it is not too hot, or taxis which are very cheap. Just know traffic in Rio is packed.

Our visit to Rio was made so much better by our choice of this hotel as our accommodations. The location was perfect for spending time on the beach and exploring the area. The breakfast was a definite highlight with a great variety of dishes and fresh fruit and juices every morning. The room was one of the more unique designs we’ve seen and the view of the beach was amazing. The staff was friendly and efficient. The only negative was the small amount of mold/mildew in the bathroom but it would have to be pretty common anywhere this close to the ocean. We would gladly stay here again if given the chance.

Unfortunately this hotel is let down by the lack of noise insulating windows which seem to let in all the noise from the kiosk across the road. I have experienced music played very late 23:30! at full volume. This feels like the window is open at times. All you can hear is thudding music. If you want to sleep maybe go somewhere else.
