Sadly not as good as it used to be

Returning after 2 years we noticed how the beach is now littered with piles of plastic sandbags. Walking around the island is a constant sandbag barrier climb.. they are everywhere! Our villa (16) looked out over the sandbags - which was very disappointing. Our beach area had pretty much disappeared so we could only sit in the garden - which unfortunately meant no sun. Clearly beach erosion is a big deal here - but sadly it’s a reason we wouldn’t return - despite the lovely staff and value for money.

We have had 2 fabulous weeks in Dhawa Ihuru. We have had amazing weather, reef very good. Small island so the variety of food is less than that of larger islands but quality is good. Our waiter Moosa was excellent. So were the bar staff Pradeep, Subhasid, Alaskan and Don who kept us supplied with fabulous cocktails and worked so hard. We will be back

Fabulous quiet Maledives island with wonderful reef snorkeling

This is a reasonably priced quiet quality resort. Personal care and excellent food. Reef is easily accessible to bar and sunset villas. Bar team Subhasia,Pradeep,don and Akash looked after us v well. Rays snorkeling not to be missesd

A traditional Maldivian island. Perfect in every way

We stayed at Dhawa Ihuru for 12 nights in January. This was our 3rd visit to the Maldives and I particularly wanted an island which had a traditional Maldivian feel and that didn't have that over developed feel to it. I loved every minute of our stay here. The villas, the staff, everything was wonderful. The food was so good and we felt thoroughly looked after. I'd like to particularly mention Akash, Pradeep and Subishsis at the bar who were so welcoming and friendly every single time we came for drinks.
