Mercure Shanghai Hongqiao SOHO 4 gwiazdki

Both me and my wife were traveling to Shanghai in September 2019. We both stayed in Mercure Shanghai Hongqiao Soho for 8 nights from Sept. 5~13, 2019 - it was my 2nd stay (the 1st stay took place exactly a year before). It was pretty nice to be back and stayed in the same hotel property. This time, we both arrived in the hotel property after 9:00 am (local time) after our flights landed in Shanghai Pudong International Airport earlier that morning (we took different flights). From PVG, we took the underground train (Green line/Line 2) and got off at Song Hong Road station and took exit 5 towards the hotel. I noticed that check-in process was easy and faster than the one I experienced in Sept. 2018. Overall, the check-in experience was far better compare to the one I had a year before. In less than 15 minutes, both me and my wife entered our room which was located in 7th Fl. (Room # 7230). Our room was clean, spacious and well maintained. Everything worked perfectly and we were happy since we had a flawless stay. We also had daily breakfast during our stay - although they only served western and chinese style breakfast, they were good enough for us and they were of good quality. We both went for breakfast after 8:30 am where the breakfast area would be much quieter. We avoided having breakfast between 7:00~8:30 am during our stay since the breakfast area would be jam packed with hotel guests. It was very crowded, noisy plus we couldn't find any empty table. Overall, this was really an excellent stay. For this reason, I personally give them a 4 stars' rating for the overall experience (better than I had in 2018 - they made quite a positive progress in improving their performance). I supposed to travel to Shanghai and stay in this hotel again in September 2020 but I had to cancel my trip due to Covid-19. However, I am still looking forward to staying back in this hotel once China opens up their border shortly.

It was a very comfortable stay at the Property. From Check in to Check out the entire service of the staff was seamless. Its just 2 minutes walk from Songhong Road Metro Station on line 2 which makes it very convenient if a person is stopping over in Shanghai overnight.

I got to the hotel via Metro. Exit 5 Songhong Road Station. Stairs are a bit much if you have heavy bags but turn right and walk about 50 meter. Cross the road and you have arrived. The check in process was simple and immediately recognised as an Accor Silver Member. All done very well. The room is very satisfactory. Everything clean and modern. All you would expect of a Mercure. Breakfast is good but my main issue is that there are not enough sitting places and found I had to ask someone if I could share a table. As long as you are willing to accept the hotel is quite outside the city center the positioning of the hotel near the station means that getting to many places is simple though taking a bit of time. Line 2 metro is the one you would want to have access to as many of the things you want to do are on that line. The area around the hotel does not have that many shopping facilities so keep that in mind if regarding if you need anything. I highly recommend the hotel and would be my first choice for the next trip to Shanghai.

I have only one night stay but the experience is great. From the check in process is fast and simple, entering the room with good condition. Bed and pillow is comfortable, free minibar and warmer toilet is helpfull. Breakfast is delicious with enough selection and quite tasty. Metro only 5 minute walk and easy to reach the famous nanjing street. For sure will get back again in near future.

Hotel is near to Hongqiao train/airport which is convenient. Other than that, nothing else really. Rooms are decent, clean but basic. Gadgetry but unfortunately all in Chinese. Avoid rooms facing the large construction site next door. It's a 24 hour construction work with trucks ferrying boulders and constant honking. I had a very early morning flight to catch which meant I did not get a good night's sleep.
