I stayed at this property for one night. You have to take Line 2 Shanghai metro line and the hotel is just a stop away (Song Hong road station) from the Hongqiao airport terminal 2 station. You then take exit no 5 and then cross the road to reach the hotel. The check in was quick and efficient. There was a little mishap regarding the booking but was resolved quickly. As an Accor Platinum member, I was awarded an upgrade as well as free breakfast the following morning. The hallway to the room felt old and tired. But the room was newly renovated. The room was very spacious and quiet. The bed was comfortable, the linen felt fresh, the sofa and table was great for working. I was really happy that the room had no cigarette smell, a rarity during my China trip last April. The room had the basic amenity you need during the stay. Unfortunately, there was no in room dining service nor restaurant within the hotel building. But there was a Mc Donalds and convenience store just across the street. I opted for the many eateries located in the mall just across the street from the hotel. So there was plenty of options. Overall a great stay.

First impression is that reception staff cannot communicate in English at all, they only can speak Chinese. On the way to my room, the hall is full of cigarette smell because other guests open room door and they just smoked. I did book non-smoking room, but room is on the same floor as other smoking room. Room itself is nice, big enough and no cigarette smell, but on the hallway to reach my room, I need to breath lots of smoking. Good thing of this hotel is that it is near metro station. That's the only PLUS.

Both me and my wife were traveling to Shanghai in September 2019. We both stayed in Mercure Shanghai Hongqiao Soho for 8 nights from Sept. 5~13, 2019 - it was my 2nd stay (the 1st stay took place exactly a year before). It was pretty nice to be back and stayed in the same hotel property. This time, we both arrived in the hotel property after 9:00 am (local time) after our flights landed in Shanghai Pudong International Airport earlier that morning (we took different flights). From PVG, we took the underground train (Green line/Line 2) and got off at Song Hong Road station and took exit 5 towards the hotel. I noticed that check-in process was easy and faster than the one I experienced in Sept. 2018. Overall, the check-in experience was far better compare to the one I had a year before. In less than 15 minutes, both me and my wife entered our room which was located in 7th Fl. (Room # 7230). Our room was clean, spacious and well maintained. Everything worked perfectly and we were happy since we had a flawless stay. We also had daily breakfast during our stay - although they only served western and chinese style breakfast, they were good enough for us and they were of good quality. We both went for breakfast after 8:30 am where the breakfast area would be much quieter. We avoided having breakfast between 7:00~8:30 am during our stay since the breakfast area would be jam packed with hotel guests. It was very crowded, noisy plus we couldn't find any empty table. Overall, this was really an excellent stay. For this reason, I personally give them a 4 stars' rating for the overall experience (better than I had in 2018 - they made quite a positive progress in improving their performance). I supposed to travel to Shanghai and stay in this hotel again in September 2020 but I had to cancel my trip due to Covid-19. However, I am still looking forward to staying back in this hotel once China opens up their border shortly.

It was a very comfortable stay at the Property. From Check in to Check out the entire service of the staff was seamless. Its just 2 minutes walk from Songhong Road Metro Station on line 2 which makes it very convenient if a person is stopping over in Shanghai overnight.

Zeer nette balie en medewerkers. Bij inchecken werd er thee aangeboden en konden de koffers weggeborgen worden tgv vroege incheck. We hadden een rustige kamer gevraagd en kamer 7242 op de 7de verdieping werd ons toegewezen. Deze lag echter langs de linnenkamer en werd druk bezocht door de poetsvrouwen. Hierdoor toch wel wat lawaai overdag door hard pratende vrouwen en piepende deurkasten. Kamer op zich is erg groot met aparte wasbak, douche en elektrische volautomatische WC.( warme wc-bril) Bed ligt goed. Frigobar is aangevuld met 3 gratis drankjes en op het kastje nog eens 2 flesjes water. Ook is er een waterkoker voorzien ( standaard in chinese hotels) Het gedeelte tussen slaapkamer en inkom met lavabo zou beter een scheidingswand hebben daar er toch wat geluid is van de gebruikers van water en het storende licht. Uitgebreid en goed ontbijt. Cappuccino- automaat is goed voor chinese hotel normen. Geen restaurant.
