We are extremely satisfied with our stay at Sofitel Barú, Colombia. The hotel is an absolute delight in terms of beauty and design, and a perfect place to truly relax and disconnect. The restaurants are excellent, and the staff is simply incredible. From the moment we arrived, we received a very warm and personal welcome from the Executive Chef, Patrice Guaus. What truly sets Patrice apart is his exceptional sense of hospitality and attention to detail. He genuinely takes the time to connect with guests, making each person feel unique, valued, and truly cared for. He came to greet us every morning, always with kindness and elegance. Beyond his undeniable culinary talent, he is a remarkable human being — engaging, thoughtful, and deeply interesting. Our conversations with him were enriching and memorable, something quite rare in a hotel experience. We are Franco-American, and I must say we are not easy guests. Yet there is absolutely nothing to complain about. Every breakfast, lunch, and dinner was a refined culinary experience, consistently at the level of a great chef, with precision, creativity, and soul. We traveled with our two young children, aged 5 and 6, so the kids club is very important to us. Here again, Sofitel Barú exceeded our expectations. Alba, the head of the kids club, is simply extraordinary. She has an incredible sense of human connection, patience, and care. Her attention to detail and genuine investment in each child make all the difference. Our children felt so comfortable, happy, and stimulated that they did not want to leave the kids club. Alba does not just supervise children — she truly connects with them and with the parents, making everyone feel reassured and pampered. Our conversations with her were also deeply interesting and warm, reflecting her passion and dedication. The entire team is outstanding, and this human quality is what truly elevates the experience.
