JO&JOE Paris Gentilly

Had a great experience. Booked a 5 person bedroom. Everything worked, only slight improvement that could be made is stronger A/C in the bedrooms but we were there when it was 37 degrees. It was still relatively comfortable. Bar area was good, clean. The outside area was really useful. Food was fresh and quick. The staff were really helpful and friendly. Location gave easy access to the centre of Paris. 10 minutes-ish on the RER. It’s just outside the ring road but it’s easy to access and has parking. The clientele were eclectic which added to the experience. From 20 somethings to people in their 70/80’s. With families and groups all mixed in. A proper smorgasbord of people. It’s a very chilled out place which I would gladly return to.

I usually don't write reviews but I think it necessary to say that Jo and Joe exceeded my expectations! The vibe is so nice and they have huge lounge areas to hang out in. Its great for younger travelers- there is a bar and the food is amazing! (try the quiche if you're into that). the room was tidy when we got there and bathrooms very well maintained. Great place to stay and location next to a train station! Book it

First night was ok but everything seems poorly maintained. My door always got stuck when closing it and hand soap was missing in 3 out of 4 dispensers in the restrooms. The other night a Russian guy came into the room and talked loudly on the phone until 2am. And when he finished he started smoking weed inside the room. The hostel is located very far from the city center so that was a big con too. I will never be back

This place is so weird. Can’t even begin to reflect on it, but I will try. The demographic of this hostel is anyone between the ages of 0-120. I seriously watched an 80 year old man play foosball with two 18 year old girls while a small child had a tantrum. No hate just so weird. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re looking to meet young travellers / go out in the city, lots of middle-aged people looking for a cheaper hotel. The lights in the hallways flash green and purple and the floors have optical illusions plastered on them. Almost like purgatory kind of. One of my roommates was experiencing something to the likes of the black-plague. Not managements fault but terrifying nonetheless. 5/10 for cleanliness and I didn’t have a curtain on my bed. 2 stars are for the fart pit (what everyone including staff call the outdoor couch - stinky but fun!)

I was so sick yesterday that I stayed alone in the hotel realising the tissue paper roll was used up. I then went to the reception asking for a refillment. I was queuing up and soon finally stood in front of the reception table. The receptionist is a lady called Amandine was like literally in front of me, holding a piece of memo and acted like busy doing her stuff on the computer. I was being ignored for at least 10 mins. While I was waiting and saying excuse me?', she acted like she didn't hear. I was thinking if you are really that busy, should you tell me ‘Hi Miss, please wait me for awhile' instead of just ignoring? There was a French family suddenly came up and asked her few questions. Yet Ms. Amandine immediately responded with a big smile, still she treated me like nobody. Until there was another receptionist backed to his station asking what he can help, I can finally get my tissue paper roll to deal with my diarrhoea and puking. Can’t imagine how bad this hostel can be when it is under the pronounced Accor Hotel group. Such a shame. Think twice before you act please, do you think it is the right way in hospitality? RIP Accor for hiring such person working in hospitality.
