We stayed at the Pullman Hotel Rotorua and overall had a mixed experience, largely due to an unusual and impractical room layout. The positives: - The location is excellent — walking distance to everything important, especially Eat Street, which is a huge plus. - Rooms are very large, with plenty of space. - Amenities are good, and the hotel is very clean throughout. - The shower is outstanding — huge, excellent water pressure, and genuinely one of the highlights. - Staff provided great service and were helpful and professional. The downsides: - We specifically requested an interleading (interconnecting) room, but the setup was extremely strange and impractical: - The two rooms were at the end of the corridor, accessed via a separate shared door that was meant to secure both rooms. - However, the individual room doors do not remain open (we requested door stoppers) and the outer shared door was broken so we couldn't actually leave the room doors open. - With kids, this setup was very inconvenient and frustrating, defeating the purpose of requesting interconnecting rooms. - While the rooms are large, the layout is bizarre - poorly designed, making the space feel awkward and inefficient rather than functional. Overall: The Pullman Rotorua does a lot right — cleanliness, service, showers, and location are all strong. Unfortunately, the room design and interleading setup are poorly thought out, especially for families, and detract from what could otherwise be a great stay. Verdict: Excellent luxury feel, location and amenities, but our room design in particular made it far less family-friendly than expected.

Good hotel with nice clean rooms in the middle of town. Staff are excellent, particularly TJ. He was a great help getting us into our room and getting our car packed up at the end. Give that man a promotion and a pay rise!

Hotel was ‘ok’ but conscious there isn’t a huge amount to choose from so is definitely one of the nicer ones. We had a lakeview suite and twin room for the kids. The view from ours was lovely but found the open plan bathroom really lacked privacy. Bed was super comfortable and room nice and dark, so had a great sleep. Room service food was decent as was the restaurant downstairs but service in the restaurant was hugely disappointing. Our young waitress had no interest in her job or serving us whatsoever which really impacted our night. Other than that the hotel is well located near the Polynesian Spa which was lovely and close to cafes and shops. The hotel is looking a bit tired and could do with a ‘glow up’.

We were really pleasantly surprised with this hotel as the reviews we read prior to were mixed. The room was very nice and spacious and spotlessly clean. In fact the whole hotel was spotless. The location is excellent being right in the middle of town and the staff were very accommodating.

Great location, superb views, Good rooms, Very close to the lake, spas and eat street. Rooms are clean, spacious with good views. Staff is courteous. Breakfast spread is good. However, they need to have a porter to help with the luggage especially since they don’t have reserved parking slots for their guests. The lady at the reception was kind enough to help us with our luggage when we checked in and guide us on the nearby parking slots.
