The hotel is pleasant overall BUT it's next to a very noisy night club with very loud music and a screaming DJ. The loud music goes on late into the night - EVERY NIGHT. So, DO NOT stay at this hotel if you're staying at the hotel on a business trip or on a relaxing trip - you'll not get a wink of sleep.

Wonderful...highly recommended!

Excellent experience from pre-arrival to departure, the team at Fairmont The Norfolk is wonderful! Pre-arrival, Reservations was very responsive and helpful during the planning stage. They secured a reliable, easy + efficient pickup from the airport (much appreciated after a loooong journey). Our airport greeter, Sheila met us with a beautiful smile and warm energy. She then escorted us to our driver Edwin, who was just as welcoming and warm. On our short ride to the hotel, Edwin shared great tidbits about Nairobi + Kenya…very helpful as we were first time travelers to this destination. Once at the hotel, we were attended to by many and our arrival was flawless. Most notably, George at the front desk was exceptional. He was attentive and caring and his hospitality made an impact. We stayed here twice, upon arrival and later just before departing Kenya. He remembered us upon our return and my preference for a courtyard view. As he gave us our keys with a big smile and noted the room would have my preferred view…nice personal touch remembering this + us. Peter, one of the door/bellmen, was also very gracious as he helped us settle into our rooms. His welcoming spirit, conversation and care made us feel valued. The team continued to shine at Tatu Restaurant where we were greeted by the hostess, Joy whose excitement was contagious; we decided to dine at this venue due to her engagement. While dining, Tavim our server enhanced the culinary experience through his attentive service, knowledge of the menu and genuine love for the restaurant and the opportunity to share it with visitors. All in all…food was very good, team was great and hotel was charming. Hope it won’t be too long before we can return. 😊

this is a beautiful luxury hotel in the heart of Nairobi. We stayed at the Fairmont for 2 nights. As expected from Fairmont, this is a luxury hotel with all the amenities and the prices are accordingly. We dined both nights at the hotel. The streak at the Steakhouse (sorry I don't remember the name) were some of the best streaks we have ever eaten. The dinner at the bar was also very delicious. This hotel has everything what one would expect from a Fairmont.

One night honeymoon

We did check in just for a night for our honeymoon however my wife wished to stay longer cause every step from the entrance was relaxing, clean, quiet, the gardens were alive..we were given a complimentary upgrade (rm 014) thanks to Lillian! She wanted us to experience every facility in the hotel that could make our few hrs at the hotel memorable and indeed we enjoyed every bit of it (steam room, sauna), we booked within a short period of time but came and found our room decorated already with towels and rose petals, slices of chocolate cake Amenity that my wife really enjoyed... everyone was friendly from the security, valet, front desk, housekeeping, spa staff, restaurant staff...may the hash browns remain permanent in the b.fast buffet, we really enjoyed that. We felt at home, that was enough.

Lovely step back in time hotel which is well maintained with beautiful gardens

What a step back in time- the hotel is an amazing place in the middle of Nairobi - the room was lovely and very clean. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The Only thing that let this hotel down was the evening meal- Whilst they accommodated us requesting an earlier time for our meal sitting the actual food was disappointing. The bar staff were very pleasant and attentive. I would return but eat out!
