Good location hotel but service could be better

Stayed at this hotel to be used as our base to travel around Osaka. The hotel is very well located within close proximity to shopping center, local and JR and airport train stations. There are lots of eateries within and outside of the hotel. The room is pretty big but dated. Breakfast at 36 floor, with good view, served international and small spread of Japanese food. Nothing to shout about on the breakfast items and if there is no real need, you can get better food outside. When we checked in, we were told of a service maintenance on 17 Jan 2025 for 3 hours from around 0100 to 0400 hrs. During this period, no power supply to the room and as such, guests would have to make do with total darkness and no air conditioning. Being a reputable hotel, it could better in communicating to the guests prior to their arrival as such maintenance is normally planned way ahead. There is nothing a guest could do if we were only informed during the check-in. We might consider switching to other hotels as what we experienced was really not so pleasant. We could not flush the toilet and the room was in total darkness and stuffy as no ventilations. Overall, it is still a hotel to consider in view of the convenience of its location.

I stayed here with my family including two children aged 9 and 7 during January 2025. Prior to arrival we were told interconnecting rooms could not be guaranteed ahead of time, but on arrival we were told they “always” put families in side-by-side rooms as a minimum, and that they always “try” to put families in interconnecting if possible. We stayed in two interconnecting rooms configured as four singles. The views were lovely. The rooms were immaculately clean and nicely-styled along the “Swiss” theme. The location is not, in my opinion, very paedestrian friendly - not because the hotel is not near lots of cool stuff (it is), but because this hotel “starts” above ground level and is only easily accessed by cars that drive up through the multi-level carpark. I other words, you can’t “get” to the hotel from the street. We did walk out of the hotel once and we were met with a rabbit warren of steps and carparks and turns. However, once at street level there is plenty around. The hotel also has direct internal access to the Namba Parks Sky-O, and is adjacent to or on top of (I think) the other Namba Park malls. My one tip is to try and remember which way you enter the mall, as I found it hard getting back to the hotel on occasion. The food at the restaurant upstairs was lovely and the breakfast was excellent, although the omelettes are a little bit runny (we found). Critically, we thought that the restaurant food was really reasonably priced for a 5 star hotel - not dissimilar to normal prices outside the hotel. The restaurant catered well for children and we were made to feel very welcome even when we dined at the restaurant in the evening with our kids. The views from the restaurant are spectacular. The minibar as expected was empty. If you have read my other reviews you will know that I get very cranky without snacks and so I am always disappointed when a minibar is sans snacks. Anyway, more and more minibars are empty these days, with the little fridges left behind the only vestiges of those days when snacks were more plentiful. Would I recommend this hotel to a friend? I think it’s really good for families and it’s in a great location overall. I found it a bit weird not being at street level, especially because the hotel photos on booking.com make it look like this is a street-level property. I would probably tell a friend it’s a “very good” hotel.

Super location, right on top of the mall and the subway station. Pls note this is not the Shinkansen station, if you are taking that you need to change trains but it’s very convenient so no issues. The shopping area is very close by with lots of restaurants. There is a nice supermarket opposite 7/11 on level 3 below the hotel. Please go to takashimaya for some nice sake to bring back home :) Great food on level 8 and 9 in takashimaya, there is a very nice Indian restaurant too in case you want a change. Craving for eggs and sausages? We sound this amazing place called Maze Namba opposite the street, it’s small but super yummy. The hotel rooms are spacious with modern amenities, we had a nice view too. However, we did have an issue with housekeeping who forgot to refill our bathing gel and we had to call for a top up at midnight when we returned to the room! Training seems to be an issue and I shared that with the front desk the next morning. The lady in charge however did not seem to think it was a big deal so I eslataed it to another manager.

We stayed 11 nights in an executive room on level 34. At first seeing shower in deep bath was a concern however we got used to it and actually enjoyed having a bath The executive lounge is small and fills up fast but we never had an issue getting a table MJ (Mary Joy) and Sarah were exceptionally hard workers and went out their way to ensure we had a pleasant stay. The breakfast was very good with lots of options. It was busy but food was topped up regularly. My only issue was when we arrived we were asked if we wanted to pay bill in yen or aus $. Not thinking I said dollars. The hotel has a really poor exchange rate and as a result we lost $650. So better to pay yen and use bank rate. Lesson here is ask rate first !!! There is not a lot of places in reception to just sit in. You have to buy a coffee from the shop there which was a tad annoying but not huge drama The room was serviced very well - even when we left do not disturb sign on when we got back they kindly offered to come and service it. All we needed was clean towels which were delivered right away Overall a good hotel and would stay again if back in Osaka
