The entire experience was excellent! We upgraded to Gold upon checking in and had terrific appetizers, great desserts and the breakfasts were amazing! Our room was very comfortable. Turn down service with Gold was nice, too. And their slippers came home with me! They are the best of complimentary slippers I have found!

Perfect location for harbour and Gas town

We stayed here for 2 nights post Alaskan cruise and pre our Rocky mountaineer train trip. This really is an upmarket hotel set in the perfect location with stunning views out over the harbour. We checked in but as we were so early our room wasn't ready ! we were given the option to upgrade our room for a reasonable amount so we accepted (I had unfortunately had an accident on a boat trip whilst on the cruise and I just needed to get my rest for a few hours before walking the area). Our room was huge with a magnificent view over the harbour, spotlessly clean with great bathroom including a bathtub which is essential for me. We only ate here once and that was for breakfast which was really nice but a bit expensive (but then Canada is expensive).We ate out both nights as the hotel is so close to so many restaurants/pubs. There is also a pool on site which seemed to be popular.

Stayed at Fairmont for 3 nights before our Alaskan cruise. Exceeded our expectations in every way- worth every penny! All staff was friendly, helpful in every way. Room was clean and bed / pillows very comfortable. Our lamp by the bed didn't work- was promptly fixed. And I accidentally dropped a bottle of nail polish (clear, thank goodness) on the tile bathroom floor, and they came to clean it up. We did not eat in the hotel restaurant, but many good restaurants, shopping, and Gastown district, are all within walking distance. Harbour, cruise ship terminal and activities (seaplane was great!) very close by. Also right around the corner is a food court with McDonald's, Subway, burgers, Asian, etc. Great location and suburb service!!! SO glad we chose Fairmont!

Expensive and pretentious for an average quality hotel.

Overpriced, pretentious hotel sorely lacking in electric receptacles. Checking in required standing in line behind more than a dozen guests. If your company is paying the tab, go for it. $30. burger. $95. ribeye. If you're retired and spending your own savings, spend half the price for a better room and experience at the Hampton Inn

Excellent room and service. Nothing was too much trouble for any member of staff we asked. We took advantage of the Gold service which was magic. Enjoy time in this magical City knowing you will be looked after superbly on your return to the Hotel, which is positioned at the heart of where you want to be, but is still quiet
