This was our very special winter vacation celebrating our 9 year wedding anniversary. We stayed 8 nights and 9 days. When checking in the hotel the front desk receptionist (Christina?) went above and beyond to accommodate all of our requests and made sure we understood all of the Fine Hotels + Resorts benefits to our stay as well as the Gold Club amenities. We appreciate that the hotel welcomes families and it’s so festively decorated for the holidays. We enjoyed lounging in the Gold Club area and having access to snacks, beverages and beautiful views of the mountains, water, boardwalk, Stanley Park, float planes landing, and the Christmas market across the street. The Gold Club also offers an outside deck if you prefer taking in the fresh air while enjoying the stunning views. Our room on floor 20 was spectacular - same views as the Gold Club but we could also see the pool and hot tub. We want to recognize additional staff members that went above and beyond to make an exceptional experience for us while visiting the Gold Club level: Mikaela, Bernie, Cohen, Melanie, Mitchell, Eric, William, Pares, and Fiona. In addition we experienced exceptional service at the Botanist every morning. Lucy and JC Barcelona always greeted us with a warm and friendly welcome and efficiency. Some of the servers were outstanding as well: Jay, Mihael, Namiko, and Lauren. The Lobby Lounge sushi counter was the show stopper during our entire visit. We visited the sushi counter 5 times during our stay and Chef Youssef, Moon, and Peter created unforgettable tasting experiences and treated us like royalty. It was hard to even consider dining anywhere else after experiencing their exquisite hospitality, warmth, fun and exciting delectable surprises. In particularly, Chef Youssef flawlessly conceptualized, faultlessly crafted, harmoniously executed and indelibly singular. The dexterity, imaginativeness and artistry put into every course were striking and made the five tasting experiences remarkably arresting. We were in awe of painterly fierceness brought to the visual aesthetics when plating each course and the vivid zestfulness that suffused the bright composition and layering of textures and flavors. Chef Youssef is the Monet of ceviche and the Mondrian of kaiseki. We have never encountered a chef with more omotenashi than Chef Youssef. If a chef can have such a thing as diner clairvoyance, he has it in spades. This was hands down the most exquisite luxurious and memorable stay at the Pacific Rim Fairmont in Vancouver BC.

We stayed here for a family vacation for thanksgiving. While the central location is convenient, that is the only positive aspect of the property. The rooms feel dated, stale, and dark. Housekeeping standards were poor; the towels appeared old and gray, and the carpets were dirty, the coffee machine was not working. Amenities were lacking, including a loud, cheap hair dryer and uncomfortable pillows. I was also concerned that the complimentary water was served in unsealed reusable bottles. The hotel is noisy and lacks a proper lobby or service. We were so dissatisfied that we moved to the Hyatt the third day. Compared to the Fairmont, it felt like heaven. I cannot recommend this hotel.

Fairmont Gold - A beyond 5-star experience – from pre-arrival arrangement, to check-in/check-out, and during my stay

Fairmont Pacific Rim is my favorite hotel in Vancouver and I have been staying there for a couple of years. Since February this year (2025), I decided to upgrade my stay to Fairmont Gold. Since then, I stayed at Fairmont Pacific Rim’s Fairmont Gold once every month or two months mostly during weekend. My most recent stays were back to back two November weekends. All my Fairmont Gold stays during the year were very satisfied, enjoyable and relaxing. Patrick Lee, VIP concierge manager, and his staff provided my family member and I with top-notch, above-and-beyond 5-star experience. A big thank you! I would like to stay in one of my favorite rooms in the Fairmont Gold room. They do their best to accommodate me and have the room ready upon my arrival. I always receive a warm greeting by last name – I heard a lot “Welcome back” - as soon as I step into the hotel lobby. The staff (from front desk to the Botanist restaurant, to the Fairmont Gold Lounge, Fairmont Spa, etc.) made a point to remember my last name, knowing that they greet many guests every day. It is amazing! As said, all the staff provided top-notch services. I would like to thank Christina (at the front desk) for her efficient and effective check-in/check-out services, her pleasant personality, attention to details, and helped me booked a spa with my last minute request. I had also received excellent services from other front desk staff/managers such as Wilson, Olena, Laurie, etc. I stayed in a Fairmont Gold room viewing both waterfront/mountain and Vancouver city. Room was newly renovated with upscale amenities. Room was clean and spacious. Housekeeping was great and always accommodated my schedule for housekeeping and turned down services. I am a foodie. Hence, the Fairmont Gold Lounge was my must go from breakfast, to evening canapés, and late night desserts. I understand that the Fairmont Gold Lounge was newly renovated since I was lucky to be there the first day when it re-opened in February 2025. The services at the lounge were superb. As soon as I stepped in the lounge, my family member and I received warm welcome by staff, greeting us by last name. I received excellent services from William, Eric, Jay, and all the other staff (I couldn’t recall all their names) who work at the lounge. Thank you! The foods were nicely curated. I especially like the healthy breakfast items in the A La Carte menu. I ordered different items each time, and the staff even remembered what kind of latte I like to drink! The Spa area was spacious and facilities were very good; Staff was nice and knowledgeable. I had a few spa treatments during my stays and was very satisfied with the spa treatments. Last but not least, I realized I can do all my activities without leaving the hotel. It was pouring rain at one of my stays at the beginning of November. My family member and I had lunch at the Botanist restaurant inside the hotel – again delicious food and excellent services. I then had a business meeting at the Lobby Lounge & Rawbar inside the hotel. I was concerned that it might be too noisy for business meeting, but because of the seating arrangement and space, it turned out to be quiet enough to have conversations with no problem. After business meeting, it was time for the evening canapés at the Fairmont Gold Lounge. When I need to step out of the hotel for dinner later in the evening, the rain had already stopped. I highly recommend the stay at Fairmont Pacific Rim’s Fairmont Gold. I am very satisfied and enjoyed staying on Fairmont Gold. Fairmont Pacific Rim’s Fairmont Gold is my definite hotel to stay when I am in Vancouver.
