Solid but not special resort

The newly renovated resort is very nice. The rooms are a bit dark (dark woods/colors) but nicely decorated and feel brand new. We were disappointed that we were assigned a room on the side of the resort, far from the beach and with barely a "sliver" view of the ocean (we were confirmed for an upgrade from a partial ocean view room to an ocean view room). The view from the room was marginal at best - nothing special - mainly a small green space and the road that the maintenance team at the resort used frequently to drive to the dumpster that we could also see. We told the reservation agent that we were celebrating our 30th anniversary and my husband's 60th birthday, had never been to Maui and really wanted a special view room. I do have to say that although this was a big disappointment for us, the rest of our stay was an 8/10. Staff were very friendly (not as refined as at the Four Seasons where we ate several times) - but very accommodating and friendly. The pool areas and grounds were well maintained and manicured. The beach was nicely maintained. We appreciated the self-park option so that we didn't have to wait for valet parkers to get our car every time we wanted to leave the resort to eat or shop. The fitness center could have been bigger given the size of the resort - but the views were nice and the equipment was relatively new. If you're looking for a solid (but not stellar) Maui resort with very large rooms (small suites) in an excellent location and that was newly renovated, the Fairmont is a good choice. If you want something extra special, head north to the Four Seasons or further north to the Ritz.

Awesome stay. Great service and amenities, loved the restaurants, location, pool, spa. Rooms are great. View is awesome. Been at this hotel many times and always love it.

This hotel is incredible! They went above and beyond to make sure that we had an amazing experience. It’s the simple things that mean so much.. Like when I said I was chilly and the staff at the sushi bar handed me a shawl to keep me warm… or when the turndown service team neatly folded my pajamas and laid them across the bed. Every person I encountered was top notch and the service was impeccable! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

i find this truly appalling- a high end fairmont resort in maui charging nearly a thousand bucks a night for a room but at 10 pm you literally have ZERO options to get a beverage of any sort in this hotel. you literally can’t even get a sparkling water or a coke anywhere in the hotel! room service closed, restaurants closed, retail outlets closed, not even a vending machine anywhere in the hotel!! are you kidding me??

The Fairmont Kea Lani, Maui is Simply the Best!

This was our second spring break joining the Fairmont family at Kea Lani. The moment you walk onto the property the pleasantness of the staff and the surroundings puts you at ease immediately. Our family of five fits perfectly in the suite - one room and one living room with a pull-out couch. There is a large balcony to relax on to enjoy the peaceful silence, a nice breeze, and a great view. The bathroom also provides so much space. You can snorkel right off one of the best beaches in Maui, take an outrigger trip for an early morning snorkel, or take a long walk around the pathway along the coast, and then come back to the small cafe for the best orange juice in Maui. Great shopping at the Shops of Wailea is near by and then head back for dinner at their new sushi bar overlooking the sunset and then the stars. I could go on and on and we will be back next year. The Kelly Family!
