Lovely staff, adequate hotel

The staff were absolutely lovely - so helpful and nice. They were the best thing about this hotel. It's a typical budget hotel in a big city, so do not expect anything more. Rooms were small and cramped but quite clean. Breakfast was sparse: by 8.30am, most of it was gone and not replenished. No kettle in rooms (this is now Ibis policy) so have to beg the staff for hot water. Location is very convenient: the direct airport bus stops here, and the C/D trams take you to city centre in less than 10 minutes.

This is a perfect place for me. The place has been beautifully modernized and decorated. Very close to the train station which was helpful for me. It was a 20 minute walk to the key tourist attractions. The staff were absolutely lovely. My room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast buffet was first class. It had all sorts of cheeses, lovely breads, fresh squeezed OJ, cerals and great coffee. I did not partake of the bar but it was available. There was also a nice seating area in the courtyard

We had a 4 night stay at this Ibis during a visit to Bordeaux. P Pros: The staff are friendly and were helpful with any questions we had. The room was good, being a good size, with a nice bathroom and strong shower. The air conditioning worked well. Cons: We had no hand towel for the duration of the stay to dry hands in bathroom. Location surrounding hotel was sketchy, we didn’t feel safe at night in the surrounding areas. Please get the tram if staying at hotel rather than walk back from Bordeaux centre, we were robbed in the ST Michel area during our first night when walking back to the hotel.
