Lift was broken and we were on the 4th floor, front desk staff acted liked we were bothering them, mattress was incredibly thin and bonus, someone was took a shit outside our door. I question the hotel's security.

I stayed at the Mercure Aberdeen Caledonian Hotel for one night on a business trip. It is convienently placed next to Union Street and in my opinion, you get a lot for what you pay for. This was the third time I have stayed and I will likely return again. The staff were friendly, my single room was emmaculately clean and contained all the ammeneties that I required for my short stay.

The hotel is dated, good location but well past it's best. The staff were attentive and friendly but were very dishevelled. The breakfast was good but questionable hygiene after one of the staff (with paint stained trousers) started spraying and wiping with an old cloth around the cups and glasses during service. Surely that should be done before any products are put out?

I had one night in Sandman with grumpy staff and a rediculus gym and spa. Caledonian was honest, old and very friendly. I’d choose you again any time! The bathroom was very worn. Was it a transformation station outside my window? Sounded like it.
