Opposite to Sovereign Hill and close to the CBD, Mercure Ballarat Hotel and Convention Centre is where comfort and convenience meet with style.

The hotel pool is not functional due to major structural damage and availability of replacement parts. We apologize for the inconvenience caused.

The current website talks of restaurant on site, there was no restaurant. My stay was booked online by my admin on my behalf. This accommodation would not have been selected if this was known. The room was grubby. The pathways were not well lite and because I needed to go out for dinner (because no restaurant onsite).

The room was very clean and comfortable, there are no complaints there. The door into our room was extremely stiff and scrapped on the floor, which made it very noisy to open & close. People put in the room next to us on Sunday night, even though the place was more then half empty. We had an 11am check out, but the gardeners were outside our room with a leaf blower at around 8am, so no sleep in. But the big one, was the bar and restaurant, closed on both Saturday and Sunday nights. We were told that the waitress was sick, and they had no one else to serve, so it wasn't opened. Very disappointing.

Had to change room after checked in. TV was not working and heater would not turn off although the remote was off. Moved to next room with working TV and heater. Did not use the rubber shower Matt as it is overdue for replacement. Dried black mould on the edges. Worse Accor hotel I have ever stayed in.
