Visited the hotel for a family trip. The rooms are good and the lifts are fast. However, the breakfast was a bit disappointing. The same breakfast is served daily with very limited vegetarian options. There was a welcome drink, but it had to be claimed by visiting their café, and there was no sugar-free drink option. The hotel should consider improving breakfast variety, especially for families staying for 4–5 nights.

A small Sofitel, great panaramic views, although the setting or rising sun is likely to blaze into your window. No opportunity to open a window for fresh air, but rooms stylishly appointed. Good central city location. Reception staff is not as impressively groomed as at other So properties, and the meek porter on Monday morning was a mere lass who couldn't lift a bag, nor even offer help to check ins and outs. Most disappointing is the parochially early 11 am check out time, even for prestige Accor members. When I asked for a later time I was offered noon, then begrudgingly 1 pm (and after a long 10 minute phone call for approval). So much for connecting to later flights. I felt only slightly spoiled staying here (Hilton beds are better),, and certainly not luxury nor 5-star spoiled.

We had a club suite on a high floor with a view toward the Adelaide hills. It was quite roomy with a separate bedroom, good size walk in robe, large bathroom with bath. There was also a separate powder room with a 2nd toilet. The bar fridge in the room was tiny and not very cold. The room was noisy at night when trying to sleep. We could hear the nightclubs which were located in a street behind the hotel. One night the noise went on until 4am. There was a welcoming plate of fruit and chocolate on arrival. All the staff were nice and helpful. We opted for vallet parking and they bought our car around quickly whenever it was needed. The Club Lounge was nice. Lovely breakfast and nibbles and drinks in the evening.

I am writing to express my deep disappointment with my recent stay at your Adelaide hotel. After months of careful planning, I suggested booking our General Manager and State Managers from around the country into the Adelaide Sofitel Hotel for a sales conference held off location. Being a local, I was excited to experience the stay in this new hotel, having had positive experiences with Sofitel properties in the past. I arrived at the hotel around 9 am on Friday 5th December to check in, even though it was early. The staff were polite and requested that I leave my bags, assuring me that I would receive a text message when my room became available and my bags would be taken to my room. They also kindly offered me a room on the 21st floor. However, upon returning at 5 pm (without receiving any text message), I was informed that my room had been moved to the 14th floor, and my bags were already in the room. I am unsure why this change was made. When I finally reached my room and prepared to take a shower, the shower head and adjusting pole fell to the ground, making it impossible for me to shower. As I was in a hurry to meet our GM and others, I informed the reception staff and showed them a picture of the broken shower. They apologized and assured me that maintenance would fix it immediately. However, when I returned to my room at 1:30 am, I found that the shower had not been fixed. After calling reception, it was suggested to take a shower in another room. This was highly inconvenient and unacceptable. Eventually, I was relocated to a room on the 22nd floor and managed to shower at 2 am. When i went to check out, I requested to speak to the manager but was told they were busy. As compensation for the inconvenience, I was offered free car parking, which I found quite insulting considering we had paid for 7 rooms for two nights. My experience was highly disappointing, and I believe that the Adelaide Sofitel falls short of the five-star standard it claims to uphold. Given this experience, we will not be considering Sofitel Adelaide for our future stays in Adelaide.

The Sofitel Adelaide certainly meets the high standards of its reputation. I was very impressed with the property; the facilities are well presented and luxurious, particularly the restaurant. The same could be said of the room, I found the bathroom tile mosaics particularly beautiful. ​A special mention to Jade at the front desk, who was so friendly, warm, and personable. She went out of her way on a number of occasions, really demonstrating her care for her job and for the hotel guests. The breakfast was solid, good quality food, and the restaurant was so beautiful and grand. ​The staff were top notch and very friendly. Also, a special shout out to the staff at Club Millésime, who were so attentive and helpful. I want to particularly call out Roshan, who I don't think stopped moving and attending to guests. Like most of the building, the pool was exceptionally well designed and beautiful. I did have trouble getting a working locker, but these things have a tendency to break down. I will be back next time I'm staying in the area.
