Wished I’d read reviews before booking here. Was looking for an extra special stay and would have been happy with the top price cost if the accommodation matched expectations. Was looking forward to a swim after a long drive but found the pool to be too cool to swim. Definitely not heated. Street noises heard so clearly at 11:30pm that we were unable to sleep. Advised night staff whose response was it’s the garbage trucks and they’ll stop soon. Asked if the windows were double glazed as this was something I’d expect from a 5 star hotel. Was told they’ve were and that we should be lucky we were not here for Halloween as it was even louder. Not helping joking off the noise when we have an early morning planned. If needing a restful sleep do not book this hotel.

Great hotel, have stayed here 3 times. Rooms are large and have a boutique and luxury feel. Very quiet hotel despite its location.

Beautiful modern clean hotel. Great breakfast. We were upgraded to a suite and it had lots of room. This hotel room had lots of storage for our clothes, luggage and toiletries. Traffic can be heard on the street below our room 402, but it didn’t bother me, The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Only a couple of things need attention. The dinner at the restaurant was expensive and the menu very limited. We got incorrect information about an outing we did to Glenelg. We were told that we could ride a tram partway and then a bus the rest. We were also told that it was free-but we found out that wasn’t true when the transit police came aboard! Luckily they were very kind and didn’t fine us.

The service from Dylan at breakfast this morning was excellent. His happy demeanour and cheerfulness shone through. It was a pleasure having breakfast. His helpfulness in offering advice on what to see and do around Adelaide was very helpful.

We had a wonderful stay at the Playford while staying in Adelaide for a wine tour. Bonika was very helpful in booking our stay which started a couple of days earlier than our tour started and for a couple of days after. Fortunately we were able to stay in the same room which was a suite on the 6th floor facing the front of the hotel which was quiet and an excellent view over downtown. On the later part of our tour we returned to the hotel again for a couple of nights but stayed in a plain room on the 4th floor on the side street which and was a bit noisy. One of the best employees was Dylan, the barista in the morning, who was very friendly and accommodating to us every day. He was fun to talk to and took care of us every morning with his delicious cappuccino. If he saw us he would make sure he said good morning and serve us our delicious drink every morning. Breakfast was delicious and thoroughly enjoyed the passion fruit which is hard to find back home. While staying in town, we found the buses and trams were very easy to use and also free in town. We knew there were Pandas at the zoo and had to see them which we really enjoyed. They have free guides at the zoo every 30 minutes or so who showed us around and saw things we would have missed. We also went to Coopers brewery downtown and the farmers market which were all great. Our wine tour through the south Australia wine regions and our tour guide Charles were excellent and is a another story. Sorry it took so long to write a review but glad we were able to experience Adelaide and stay at the Playford.
