Back in July I stayed with my family for a wedding. And wanted to do a big shout to the restaurant team especially Josh, Abbey and Ashley. The restaurant manager he couldn't have been more accommodating. We had booked a meal but last minute needed to add additional guests so ended up being around 10 of us. They done there best to get us seated together and looked after us so well. The high level of service continued into the bar after the food. Thank you all so much. We will all remember the night before the wedding being well taken care of by your restaurant team. Big shout to the restaurant supervisor. July 26th 2024.

The second stay here in a year and location and staff cannot be better, particularly if you are in town for carnival. Parking is good and there are even EV charges, which is rare in some hotels. Check in was efficient and friendly but our room, overlooking the carnival route, smelt of stale tobacco, fish and chips and rank air. We asked reception if someone could sort this, but no one came and despite asking for the room to be serviced the day before we still had to ask again. We didn’t get bins emptied or towels changed as requested. Furniture was tired and needed replacing, particularly the bucket seat that had an odd cushion that didn’t fit, making it uncomfortable to sit on. It was only when we were leaving and checking the room that we found a full pouch of tobacco under the cushion - was this where the smell was from? This was a vile thing to find: had people been smoking here? Breakfast was chaotic on the Saturday due to large numbers, only two staff and only one very slow and ancient coffee machine. The queue was long and staff refused to bring tea or coffee to the table, which they happily did the next morning. The fried eggs were solid, greasy and cold and whilst the cook agreed to make scrambled or poached eggs for a few, she stopped and shouted “no more scramble or poached eggs” , so no more eggs were cooked! Only two staff were on duty both mornings which is ridiculous for a full hotel on carnival weekend. At £580+ for two nights I feel the service, the cleanliness of the rooms and the breakfast were a joke.

Excellent overnight stay - The room was comfortable and well equipped with add on available on request. The reception staff were friendly and helpful on each occasion we dealt with them. The food and service in the restaurant was first class and we were lucky to be looked after by a young waitress who was genuinely friendly and personable.

We have just returned from a 1 night dinner bed and breakfast offer booked through SE. We have stayed here 5 times now and always had a great stay. We arrived before 1 on Sunday morning and the very friendly receptionist checked us in and said the room was ready. That's a perfect start and great not like other hotel chains that insist on not checking in before the time even if the room is ready. Our room was perfect again. Clean, very comfortable bed and quiet. We had dinner included and we thought each course was perfect. The lovely waitress who sat us and then took our order was so good. She was an asset to the dining room and made our evening even more enjoyable. I did ask her to take a photo of us as it was our anniversary and she kindly did and then by surprise a lovely board of sweet treats appeared with happy anniversary written on. Thank you for that. We used the gym early in the morning and was perfectly adequate for a little workout. Breakfast was good but for me the hot dishes needed to be hotter but think as it was so quiet the items were sitting for a while. We did ask the chef for poached eggs and that was brought to us perfectly. We enjoyed our night away for our anniversary so much we are already looking to book again to return quite soon.

Hotel itself is clean, tidy and very classy. Lots of nice decor pieces dotted in the lobby. There was a road closure just outside the hotel so we did have to do a few loops round in the car to find the car park (it ended up being in the old Aldi car park next to the huge advertisement billboard. Can’t miss it.) All the staff was very friendly and was happy to answer any and all questions. The room itself was gorgeous; lots of nice touches and amenities. The walk-in shower was a highlight for me; nice and modern, with a rainfall shower head and easy to use temperature controls. There is ample shampoo, conditioner and shower gel provided, as well as hand wash and cosy lotion by the hand sink. There is a mini fridge that includes a reusable bottle each of still and sparkling water. Reception is more than happy to refill, just let them know. Breakfast was also a highlight; nice coffee machine and a really great range of pastries, cereals and hot breakfast items. The fried eggs are cooked in small batches; best hotel fried eggs I’ve seen! They also have fresh bread that you can cut and use in the toaster machine which I’ve never seen before too. Lovely!!
