My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 3 wonderful nights. The colonial French building was converted into a modern hotel with a lush and well maintained courtyard, pond, and swimming pool. Our suite was spacious fully stocked with amenities, the king-sized bed was plush and comfortable. But what set this hotel apart from other luxury hotels is the staff. To a person the staff were very friendly and accommodating, especially Mr. Yod at the front desk and all of the kitchen staff. The level of service that they provided truly made our stay a memorable one.

Loved this hotel so much ! Great price and beautiful location,vibes ,gorgeous restaurant and super services. Poukie is nice staff who alway take care us very well. Our kids also enjoyed lots activities including playing with rabbits, picture painting and swimming. Hey don’t forget to have spa here that’s awesome and very relaxing. Actually , we always visit Laos every year . Of course , we always stay here , Sofitel. We just visited last December and January in this year . We will be here again 1-2 months . Just fell like staying our home and have fun . Why not you guys just visit and stay here ? This is unforgettable memories .❤️❤️❤️👍👏👏👏

We spent three nights here as part of an extended tour of south-east Asia, long delayed by covid. The hotel is quite lovely with beautiful public areas and spacious, well-appointed rooms. Food is good, if nothing special. Staff are charming and helpful: from front of house to housekeeping to waiters. There is a complimentary limo service within the city, useful for getting to any of the main attractions and restaurants. There are three pet rabbits that roam the lawns. On the downside, there are a few maintenance issues and (it being shoulder season) there were renovations to rooms right next to ours. The hotel is in an up-market residential area to the east of the city centre with some traffic noise (rooms are on the edge of a compound) and dogs barking at all hours. In all, an excellent hotel.

This is where you go if you want to write a novel or want to carry on an amazing romantic affair or want to write a novel about carrying out an amazing affair. For my wife and I this place was very close to perfect. Arrival at this hotel doesn’t have the same theatrics of other places in South East Asia (just two gongs) but it’s what’s down the tiled stairway that sets it apart. It feels like you are going back in time and Graham Greene could be staying there. No theatrics needed. The hotel itself was a french colonial governors fort and has around 25 rooms spread out across an immaculately manicured garden. It’s a tranquil paradise. The internal courtyard is split into quadrants with a gorgeous dark tiled pool taking up almost one half. The other half consists of a Lily pound and a vegetable garden which the head chef uses to prepare your delicious farm to table meals. Our corner room at the back of the property was large and tastefully decorated with a large bed which had mosquito netting adding to the south East Asian aesthetic. The bathroom was split into two sections with the bathtub and shower sitting just outside the back door giving it a naturalist feel. Along with shuttered colonial windows and a gorgeous outdoor patio I was ready for a gin and tonic and a nap. As stated above the property also has a superb, outdoor restaurant serving a fusion of western and Laotian farm to table meals. We had breakfast daily and dinner once. All absolutely amazing. The head chef is very hands on and available and I’m guessing those with dietary requirements would find him open to a conversation. Our food and beverage experience was perfect. We tend to eat local meals when we travel and did here as well with the exception of a breakfast. All fantastic. Lastly, the staff were just amazing! The nicest, most courteous staff we have run into in years. From the moment you woke up to the end of the day they were kind and available. I cannot speak highly enough about the staff at this hotel. They arrange numerous different excursions for us during our stay and were constantly asking what they could do to help. They really did make us feel like the center of the universe even though we were just part of the day to day. We are already planning our return to this location. I could go on and on but it was just superb.

Very welcoming hotel. Top location with hardly any noise from the nearby city. We initially stayed in town and found it very noisy. The move to Sofitel and its extremely friendly and helpful staff was right decision. Massage was top as well.
