The entrance was beautiful, walked into the room and it smelt stale and there was a bit of mould on the roof. One of the notes in the room said that lunch was takeaway due to covid but another note said that it was open until 3pm when we got to the restaurant they told us they were closed but could make us a pizza. My partner ordered the carbonara for dinner which was a huge serving but it was very salty and oily. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay.

After reading some reviews and being in the top end during the "wet", I wasn't looking forward to my stay. However, I can safely say my wife and I really enjoyed our time at this hotel, great room, good restaurant and bar facilities.

On Arrival I was advised that I had two bookings with the hotel, I advised that one was a booking that I had cancelled, due to the fact that I had mistakenly booked on a site that was not your direct site and only realised my mistake when the site was charging me in US $. So that was strange but thought that I had sorted with your staff. Then we were surprised in the condition of the lack of care with maintenance especially the dirty entrance gates which looked like they had not had a coat of paint or a clean for several years. also there was no information in the room about any facilities in the hotel, or town as to food choices or eating places or sights to . Then when we went for a swim we were upset to be smoked out of the pool by people having a party at the pool and standing right along side the non smoking sign and lighting up and blowing smoke all over my wife and myself. so being an Asthmatic I had to leave the pool so very disappointing. Then while having dinner at your restaurant I missed a call from your front desk. so I went out to see what was the issue. Where once again I was advised that there were two bookings , which I had thought that I had sorted on checkin. The gentleman said that he was sorry and would sort it out. Then after arriving home and whilst checking my bank statements this week have found that I have now been charged for two seperate bookings after twice thinking that this was sorted. Am of course very disappointed. I realise that 2020- 2021 have been tough from an accomodation point of view, but am shocked to see that it has gotten to this state of such low customer service that your staff can't even sort out a simple thing this as this. What a way to ruin a Valentines Day stay for my Wife and myself Kindest Regards Robert J.

Moldy and damp hotel

The first and the second hotel rooms we were given had black mold growing all over them. It was on the walls, the ceilings, the bathroom and the curtain. The whole room was damp and dank. The air conditioning system badly needs cleaning. The air blowing from it smells of damp and mildew. The third room we were given was ok and we were able to complete our stay. All of the staff we dealt with were great, helpful and friendly. I had good interactions with them and have no complaints about the service they provided. However the state of the building means that I will not be staying at that hotel again.

First there was no microwave as advertised. There was no appolgy made or offer for a better room. Swimming in the pool required us to fish out loads of dead bugs first. There was mould growing on the roof of our room. The laundry was disgusting, leaking taps and rusty sink. In need of much repair. Was staying for 5 nights but left after 3 - no refund for other 2. One possitve - Mary at the resturant was very freindly and helpfull and ts great.

Room extremely dated. Bathroom in particular needs attention due to chipped paint and mouldy grout. We had no hot water. However the staff, without exception were friendly, helpful and efficient. The indigenous art throughout the hotel is beautiful.

Enjoyed our stay rooms furniture is a bit tired and would simply be impossible to clean not practical at all. Bienvenue card was invalid for no particular reason but the great agent at reception honoured the staff rate. Saving employee moral something i really value. All staff we encountered were wonderful. Food was great and reasonably priced at the staff discount. Would recommend and return.

The room I had was very very dirty. I have photographs to prove it, and showed them to reception on leaving. To be charge $189 for a room as dirty as this is disgraceful. I also have difficult dietary requirements, due to allergies, and there was nothing on the menu I could normally eat, so had to eat something I wouldn't usually. Between booking to go to the restaurant for the following night, and turning up on the night I was booked for, the booking was 'lost' even though I'd had long discussions about my diet with the staff, before booking. Apart from this the staff were very helpful in all but one case.

On arrival, the check in was quick and the gentleman was friendly and efficient. He advised I make a booking at the restaurant as the hotel was very busy. The F&B staff were unable to take my booking (one girl was new (so understand that's not her fault), the other guy didnt know how, the third guy came asked me what I needed and then walked off to service someone at the bar. The young lady asked if would wait for the manager - but had no idea where he was or how long he would take. I asked them to give me a call on my mobile and left my room number.. but no one ever called.... So i had to ring an hour later to confirm my booking time. Was also double charged for two bottles of win (instead of one) at checkout... had to be issued a refund...

Adequate stay, but the hotel was tired and dirty. The room was incredibly dusty and dirty behind the bedside tables. The bathroom was old and discoloured. The towels were just thrown on the rack and were not neat and tidy. The gates were covered in something black like they were never cleaned. It wasn't the level of quality that I was expecting from Mercure/Accor.
