Accommodation and meals were of a very good standard. However a couple of things to consider. Lighting in room was ordinary and very surprised that getting a coffee or a drink after a day out exploring was not available until the bar was open. Why?

Stayed for two nights at Mercure Crocodile in a ground floor room opening onto the pool area. The room had good facilities but some of the areas were a bit tired particularly the bathroom where the door was badly water damaged at the base. The restaurant was good and the buffet on our first evening was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Rooms are spacious, although bathroom could do with an update. Nice touch was the Kakadu bathroom products. Backpacker staff in dining room and front desk were pleasant and helpful. Downside - our room was not serviced when we came back at 2 pm and at 4.30pm, when we wanted to rest and change . Upon raising this with the supervisor/Hotel day manager, she did not apologise, or offer compensation, nor did she rectify the situation until I insisted . Fortunately, the evening manager was more empathetic, apologised and provided complimentary breakfast.
