Dirty bedroom/ bathroom. Lack in maintenance (blocked sink, blocked shower drain). Reception team not friendly or keen to help/ accommodate. Only bar is by the pool and it’s unattended in the evening. Not very close to any of the main touristic attractions, not in the hop on hop of bus area. Good food. 8 min walk to the train station. Free shuttle bus to the train station. Convenient Seven Eleven next door. Comfortable bed.

Having our conference stay for 5 days towards the end of april to start of may, I truly recommend this hotel to business travellers as the hotel really does a great job at this!!! Would like to take some time to write in about the excellent service my conference group experienced during their stay.. Please extend our many thanks and credits to Ms Kat, who managed the winestone breakfast seamlessly and with the huge crowds even everything was taken care well under her care. We also got to know that the hotel was on full occupancy and that did worry us because we also had our conference group staying but kudos to Ms Kat for handling the restaurant so well every guest left content and having a great experience. Being greeted with the warmest smile and bubbly character, Kat also gave a recommendation to our group of the timing that was best for us to dine to avoid the larger groups and that helped a lot with having a good hearty meal at the start of the day before going onto our conference over at novotel stevens hotel. We saw her communicating with the chefs to ensure proper topping up of the food was done and instructed staff to help us clear our dirty plates. It was nice seeing a familiar face greeting us and im sure the other guests felt the same as Ms Kat would also remember our names and room numbers. All in all please extend our outmost gratitude to this gem of your hotel and thank you for the wonderful experience.

I would strongly advise against staying at this hotel. At midnight, while I was asleep, a random man entered my room through an interconnecting door that had been left unlocked. When I raised this with reception, their solution was either for me to move rooms in the middle of the night with all my belongings or to have the man come and apologise. They also offered to send up a bottle of wine — as if I were some sort of alcoholic who would want wine at midnight after being woken up terrified. I had been fast asleep moments before — the offer was insulting and completely missed the seriousness of the situation. Had my boyfriend not been there, I could easily have been raped. Therefore: 1. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, as your personal safety and belongings are clearly at risk due to unsecured interconnecting doors. 2. I would especially not recommend this hotel for female solo travellers, who are left seriously vulnerable to being attacked while asleep, with hotel management thinking a bottle of wine is an acceptable response. Extremely unsafe, poorly handled, and utterly unacceptable.

The Mercure on Stevens Singapore has two nice pools, although the poolside bar has very limited drink options. Most juices aren't available, no mocktails, no smoothies and limited to two beer brands. Improvements in dining & drinks is needed. The breakfast for Mercure guests were moved to Winestone next door as the main breakfast area is only for the novotel guests. Breakfast buffet was limited and food bland and not that nice. The waitress staff clearing tables are extremely nice and couldn't do enough to be helpful. We had Cai Ting from housekeeping clean our two adjoining rooms and she was so lovely. Our rooms were cleaned to perfection & she really went above and beyond to ensure we were happy and didn't require anything else. The bus to stevens MRT was very convenient and without that it is a little out of the way but the bus makes getting around Singapore easier with connection directly to the trains. Overall it was a nice stay for a short stay but for more of a hotel dining and relaxing hotel I'd recommend looking for something else. This did the job for our sightseeing. The pizza place just outside is absolutely delicious and I wish we'd found this on our first day.
