I truly enjoyed my stay at the “Hotel L’Echiquier Opera Paris”. It was a lovely, well appointed, relaxing hotel!! I would drink a cup of coffee each morning on the balcony of my room, prior to eating a tasty breakfast in the1940s themed dining room. The service was excellent, beautiful rooms, wonderful banquet room and loved the elevator! Located in the center of the city, you are close to all the major attractions (Eiffel Tower, Palace of Versailles, Louvre, etc). I tend to be more of a romantic, therefore was inspired by the art nouvelle architecture, feeling as if I had stepped back in time 100 years ago, magical. This brings me to the Hotel concierge - Darina!! She was lovely, friendly and very helpful !! I never imagined the French people could be so amazing! She would greet my son and I with a warm, friendly, sincere smile each time our paths crossed. Making recommendations for us that we could experience the finest parts of France! Darina, is the heart and soul of the Hotel L’Echiquier Opera Paris, and can say she is missed! In closing, I must say that I am in a position to stay in any 5* Hotel in Paris of my choosing. However. when I return to Paris, I will stay again in the Hotel L’Echiquier Opera Paris.

100% reccomend. Great service from all, staff are happy to work there and this comes across. Nobody waits for things to be done, staff are attentative and want guests to have all they need to ensure a pleasant stay. The rooms were immaculate. My sister contacted the hotel ahead, as it was our anniversary. We were upgraded to a deluxe room which was huge especially in Paris but even for UK standards the room was huge. Free minibar of soft drinks, and would be replenished when asked. Room service was sampled and was lovely! And no extra tray charge. Clarins products through which smell amazing and when you get back to your room you can smell the quality throughout the room from the shower product. I would 100% reccomend this hotel. We caught ubers and bolts everywhere so unsure on public transport.

This hotel is amazing! The rooms are very nice and very clean. The hotel is very unique and the bar and restaurant area is very big and beautiful. The rooms come with a mini fridge with loads of drinks. The staff are very kind. They clean your room regularly and leave little treats on the bed! But the location isn't the best however. It is still a great hotel and I would come again!

Excellent place. Warm welcome. Client oriented. Room very clean, very good quality of towels, excellent bath products. The atmosphere in the bar is pleasant. It was a nice surprise, with a balance quality price. I hope to come back with my family.

Pleasant hotel and staff

This hotel located on a quiet non descriptive kind of road, only 5 mins walk from Bonne Nouvelle Metro and 10 mins from the Metro of Strasbourg St Denis. There are 6 floors, serviced by two lifts (elevators) one is a classic old fashioned metal cage type with swing door which runs up through the centre of the building, the other is a modern style enclosed model. Rooms are quite well equipped with flat screen TV, fridge, kettle and coffee machine, hair dryer also provided. There was air conditioning in the room which seemed fairly effective. We didn’t eat here in the evening but breakfast was included in our room price, and this was served in the restaurant which is very pleasant with a high pitched glass roof. There was a very good variety of breakfast available with all sorts of fresh pastries, cold meats, cheeses, yoghurts, cereals & breads. There was also a hot selection with scrambled eggs, veal sausage, baked beans, potatoes & bacon, although this wasn’t always kept very hot. Just be aware that at the time of this review (May 2024) that the building directly opposite was under renovation, and our room at the front overlooked this, which felt a bit intrusive with workers on scaffolding etc, also there was some early morning noise. There’s a good selection of cafes and brasseries nearby, some with late afternoon ‘happy hour’ offers, I think this was available between 4-7pm also there’s some convenience shops which sell snacks, soft drinks, beers, wines and toiletries etc. On checking out we were hit by an unexpected charge for ‘taxe de séjour’ or tourist tax, (about 60 Euros for a 4 night stay) apparently this tax wasn’t included in the booking price, we were under the impression that our package was fully inclusive, so depending on which platform you are using to book any hotel in France, it’s worth checking if the tourist tax is included in the price to avoid a surprise when checking out.
