Despite having an airconditioning control in the room the system was centrally controlled and only offered heating! Reception suggested we open the window. As it was already noisy we moved to a room at the back and signed a form to have the window unlocked! Very odd.

Reception staff were good and hotel clean and tidy. Dinner was excellent, food very good quality and good service. On the other hand, our non smoking-room smelt like an over full ashtray, floor covered in cigarette burns, and the bed mattress was as hard as concrete. Shower over the bath and quite high to step in and out of bath. Water temperature adjustment was hard to regulate.

Many of the rooms smell of smoke. However, upon request our room was changed which had a less intense smoke odor. Rooms are basic. You can hear the traffic on the street, which can be noisy at nights. Many staff do not speak English, and try to avoid you if they don't understand. Taxi service on the side of the hotel, but we were not informed of this by staff. We found it incidentally. Breakfast options limited to Turkish tastes and not really inter continental. Food in room service however was good

Disappointing 3 star experience

Disappointing experience definitely not a 5 star hotel & Management were not warm or friendly. Hotel entry and foyer is clean and spacious . Rooms are clean and on the smaller size- due to its location there is a lot of traffic noise that penetrates the room so it is not conducive for light sleepers. We were a large tour group of 24 and the consensus amongst all of the guests was that the Airconditioning system is not efficient and and rooms were rather warm. We personally had an issue in our room and the hotels solution was for me to sign a waiver to allow the window to be fully opened. I would suggest they would benefit by upgrading their air conditioning system within the hotel as this should not be an alternative solution to their insufficient infrastructure. The pool was not available to use during our stay for some unknown reason . We found the Management service was not particularly friendly or helpful compared to the numerous other Novotel hotels we have stayed in where we have usually received a great level of service and hospitality.

A typical chain Novotel hotel. The rooms were clean, well appointed, and good size. Nothing really within walking distance along a main road.
