Avoidable stay for a family, may be ok for someone on a business trip who has to just sleep and leave in the morning

Please do not mistake, the property is not a 5 star one, the staff have very little awareness about the property, some rooms have a weird sticker placed on the windows to obstruct the outside view (it seems to be an afterthought, take these rooms as window less ones), reception staff doesn't know which room has these stickers and which don't, since I had read in the reviews, I specifically asked for a room without these, we eventually ended up with the sticker - reception staff's ignorance to be blamed. For extra bed, the request was placed at the time of check in and even after repeated personal visits to the reception, the same was not placed. Housekeeping and room service calls go unanswered, it is not written anywhere in the room of phone that 0 is to be dialled for reception. Overall an avoidable stay and our last one at any Grand Mercure property. I would have avoided posting this review as I understand the property being sold out and running with sub optimal headcount, the existing folks would be doing their best. However decided against it when basic tenets of hospitality industry were found missing i.e. not to justify mistakes or deny those. Could find another review posted on Nov 14th exactly on the extra bed matter - our similar experience may be a coincidence.

And one more guy. I think he is not front office but he was in front office the desk. He is talk with rude. And i parking my bike in basement. He don't allow to go their by service lift. So i go from outside this is not good. His behavior is not good. He is not fit for the hotel service. I don't know his name I forgot .

Great location and good food but average service

I stayed with family on 14 Oct. Overall stay was OK. food and location was good but services was not like a five star hotel. As stayed in triple occupancy so extra bed would have arranged by team itself but have to Ask for extra bed myself thrice & it took more than 3 hours aorund to get it installed. Overall stay was OK.

Room was not properly cleaned, the pillows are out dated, food in buffet dinner need lot of improvement, breakfast also need improvement.
