A Let Down. Not a 5 star.

The stay at Grand Mercure Mysore was a let down. Il brief it in points. 1. No benefit experienced for online check in from accor app. The check in experience was ordinary. 2. The front desk did not know if there was a lunch buffet or not when there was actually one and was not aware of any dining benefits available to members. 3. The la carte dining experience at La uppu for lunch on both days was also not satisfactory. There was no smile on any of the staff and they seemed overworked and less pleasant. Service was slow too. Also there were very few veg options in the buffet so opted la carte. Also nobody to greet you and help u with seating at the restaurant. Had to do it myself. 4. Was let down when visited the sixth floor as the person at the counter of the spa was not so happy to see me in that floor and handed out the spa menu in distaste. This floor has the pool, spa, gym and a restaurant which would open in the evening. 5. On the second day despite 3 requests at the front desk and leaving the clean my room signal on, the room was not cleaned. It was finally cleaned at 3PM. 6. The renewed wifi credentials were not provided for the second night. Had to go to down to front desk to get it myself. 7. The health faucets installed in the bathrooms had too much force. Was hurt a couple of times 8. The mini bar was totally empty on both the days. 9. Was given a room near the lift despite my preferences in accor account. Would recommend accor to conduct an audit. In the current state i think it should be downgraded to Ibis.

The Grand Mercure is a really good hotel. The staff are helpful. The rooms impeccably clean. And the food is generally excellent, esp the breakfasts. The only quibble was the roof top restaurant which we found rather disappointing overall. We had a better meal outside at the Metropole Hotel. Ceiling fans would be a good addition to have a break from the drying sensation of a/c when not too hot.

Safety 5⭐, Reception 5⭐, Wifi 5⭐, TV 1⭐, Veg Break fast 2⭐, Checkout support 3⭐, children play area 2⭐, Housekeeping 5⭐. Veg break fast taste can be improved and better to avoid repetition like poha. Hathway tv don't have better south regional channels, children play area needs improvement, Checkout support like transit luggage till reception needed multiple calls. Overall experience is 4⭐.

Great porperty but shoddy housekeeping

The property is very nice. Food was outstanding, in particular the Chinese cuisine. But too many misses in the housekeeping department. No lotion bottle in the room. Had to call to get one. The shower gel and shampoo were half used from previous guest. The creamer was half used from previous guest. No use and throw slippers. The phone smelt like gutter - probably cleaned with a dirty cloth.

Me and my parents stayed at the Grand Mercure for 3 nights and really enjoyed the time spent there. Some of the things that made our stay memorable were the traditional welcome, very nice and clean room, outstanding room service, and a superb breakfast buffet. The room service was top notch. Every time we requested for tea bags etc. it was attended to very promptly, they brought in much more quantity that we requested for. A special thanks to Ramya and Nirmal who took care of our room. The rooms are a bit small and we had an extra bed but the team moved the main bed to make room, something not many hotels would do. The breakfast spread was amazing, and the outdoor seating at the La Uppu was fantastic. We wold like to thank the entire crew at La Uppu, specially Rantim, Sourav and Sadhan for their excellent hospitality and prompt service. The top floor swimming pool was very nice, though we didn't get a chance to use it. The gym was very good too. Thanks to the entire team at Grand Mercure for making our stay really memorable. Would definitely love to stay again when we go to Mysore :)
