Disappointing

Well located but the food and rooms :(

On arrival I was not greeted as a returning guest or as a silver member. I asked for a room close to the lift for my partner‘s father who both had a stroke and was clearly struggling to stand as we checked in. We were allocated a room that was very far from the lift, the front office staff did not appear to know the layout of the hotel rooms in relation to the lift shaft. The secondary that we were allocated for my son for my partner had very poor Internet service again the staff in the hotel seem to be completely unaware of this and eventually we are offered a different room which did have better Wi-Fi. In addition to that on eating in the buffet that evening the food was cold and looked as though it had been there for some considerable time, even though we were eating around about 6 pm local time. The Kuih on offer had gone off as it was clearly prepared very much earlier in the day. Breakfast on day two it was another reheat of the previous nights food including some roast potatoes that were almost completely shrivelled and dried and cold as was the majority of the rest of the food for breakfast, even that should’ve been warm. This was a poor experience of the Aqua brand and the hotel itself which I understand has a new manager since the last visit seems to have gone down in terms of quality rather than being improved a very disappointing stay.

Very disappointing

Though I am a silver member and could avail of the discount on the second breakfast, I paid for the breakfast package. Unfortunately, when we arrived at breakfast everything was empty - ALL THE DISHES! This is 45 mins before close of breakfast. There was no manager. We asked the reception and the front lobby manager intervened. He apologized and took note of the situation. I requested a REFUND for the breakfast. He said he would look into it and let me know. However, the day we were checking out he was on leave. The staff assured me that he would call but I did not receive any call. Ultimately, I am very disappointed. I have to say the ACCOR group feel below my expectations. I have loyalty memberships across several hotels including TAJ, Shangrilla and Marriott and stay at these hotels regularly. Never have I experience such shoddy service and NO BREAKFAST after paying for it in advance. THERE WAS NO BREAD, CAPPICCINO OR CHEESE. Even in the most basis hotel, bread, coffee and cheese is available for breakfast. This was a total disappointment to say the aleast. My experience at ibis has marred my impression of the ACCOR Group. I think the least you can do to show your bonafides is check with the hotel and REFUND my money for all 3 Days for the breakfast since we could not consume it - Or offer me hotel credit for this amount.
