The hotel is close to most of the sightseeing locations in Malacca centre, on Friday nights Jonker Street is close by. My room was very comfortable and spacious, I found all the staff very friendly. The check-in process was quick, I found the breakfast has improved since my previous visits. I can recommend this hotel for a stay in Malacca

First of all, our room was provided with one towel/person only, which is certainly not what one would expect from a four-star property. In addition, the customary complimentary bottles of drinking water commonly offered throughout Southeast Asia have been replaced by a small water tap connected directly to the washbasin. We do not fully understand the rationale behind this choice. The rooms themselves appear rather worn, with visible patches and signs of repair on the walls, ceiling, and flooring. Furthermore, for a hotel claiming a four-star standard, the lobby is almost non-existent and does not provide the level of comfort or atmosphere typically associated with this category. Regarding the food, we had breakfast on three occasions. Each time, the staff responsible for preparing eggs were unable to produce a satisfactory omelet or properly cooked fried eggs. While this may seem a minor detail, it significantly affects the overall breakfast experience. Last but not least, butter was not available and was replaced exclusively by margarine. In addition, yogurt and cheese were not offered, despite being standard breakfast items in most IBIS hotels worldwide. Overall, we found that several aspects of the hotel fall well short of the standards normally associated with a four-star property.

Room was decently sized, bed was on the slightly small side. We had 2 kids, 2 adults so we booked two rooms and it was just nice for us. There was a bit of noise from the roads at night (our unit faced the road) but if you are facing the playground, then it should be quite quiet. I particularly liked that there was a filter tap in the room for water. But the shower amenities - pathetic. It is a 3-in-1 - shampoo, body soap, face soap... and it smelt like CIF (the bathroom cleaner we use in Asia). Please change it out. The playground and pool has a lot of wear and tear. Pool was fun but there was small pebbles all over the pool which made it painful to walk/stand for long. That being said, the slide was fun. Playground, although old, had the main stuff like monkey bar and slide which my kids kept playing on repeat. Overall a decent last minute 2D1N stay.
