This is the second time staying at this hotel. To be honest, the first time we had some issues with the air conditioning in the room, it was stuck on freezing! This time was a whole better experience from friendly check in, nice spacious room. If you are able to use the club lounge, this is a lovely area to chill, enjoy some complimentary snacks and drinks. We enjoyed a delicious meal in the restaurant, wonderful breakfast buffet, also used the gym which is a decent size and enough free weights and equipment for a good workout. It’s a little walk from the CBD but suits us as we enjoyed walking, only 20 minutes.

Elegant hotel with exceptional service. Every little detail was taken care of even cool fruit flavoured water in the lobby and a nice bed time tea and chocolates waiting for you in the evening as part of turn down service. The room service breakfasts were plentiful, Nespresso coffee in the room and the restaurant was just beautiful with amazing food. Bed was super comfy.

We love staying at the Sofitel and this last visit was perfect as usual. The staff are excellent, Hunter is an asset to the business, with out being over the top and everything feels first class. The decor is beautiful, luxe but not tacky or too bling. The only thing I missed this visit was the signature smell which used to envelop you as soon as you walked in the door, perhaps they aren’t using it anymore? We’ve booked again for New Years Eve and can’t wait. Highly recommended.

Sofitel Wellington has truly brought back the kind of customer service you long for but rarely find. The whole experience was outstanding — beautiful rooms, genuine hospitality, and a standout breakfast. Executive Chef Joe deserves special mention: his omelette was the best I’ve had in years, and his professionalism and warmth made the stay unforgettable. A world-class team — Sofitel should be very proud! 👏
