Nice room and good service including recommendations for places to eat in the old centre of Amersfoort. While there was no natural light in the breakfast room they did provide a very good choice with a chef doing omelettes while you wait and a coffee station . There was also salmon to go with the cold meats and cheese .

Parking charges almost double vs what is advertised

Hotel is ok-ish but probably one of the less good Mercure hotels I have stayed in. The pillows are strangely square and deflate with air slowly when you lie down. Another annoying issue is that parking charges are almost double from what the website says. All in all, nothing major but when I pointed out the latter, I was told that they had changed the prices and yeah … the website just had not been updated yet. Bit of an average response I would say!

Good location. Immaculately clean.

The hotel is two bus stops away from the Centraal Station with a very regular service and a bus stop just outside the front door. Friendly welcoming staff at reception and very good staff cleaning rooms. Our room was immaculately clean. There is a restaurant on the second floor with an Asian theme and next door are a couple of fast food places, but OK. A supermarket and other shops are also accessible from the hotel. The beautiful old town of Amersfoort is an easy 10 minute walk from the hotel along the river bank. The only fault we found were the noisy guests on our floor who seemed to think running up and down the corridor screaming at 3am was a lot of fun. But that wasn't the fault of the hotel.

As a platinum member booking the top-tier executive suite with a jacuzzi we expected some nice treatment at this hotel. However, our experience fell short. Welcome amenities were not provided. Basic amenities like bathrobes and slippers were hidden in the closet. The ventilation system didn't work, leading to a sleepless first night. Despite reporting a noisy neighboring (room) party with music and screaming till dawn, the situation wasn't resolved. Communication with the front desk was frustrating and had a lot of miscommunication. Although we appreciated the gesture of breakfast on our last morning, it didn't make up for the overall disappointment. This hotel could learn a lot from others in the group and also with resolving issues.
