The Name of The Hotel Should Be "IBIS Nothing Hotel"

very very bad hotel. there was no closet in the room. no safe to put our important things. no phone to call the reception. when we had a problem, we had to go down 9 floors. we booked a so-called family room but they gave us a room for 2 people. after they brought the baby bed, there was no space left to move. they gave 3 towels. when we asked for the 4th one, they said “you are 3 people.” when I reminded them about the baby, they said “the baby doesn’t need a towel.” how are we supposed to dry the baby after a bath? anyway, they brought it after we insisted. they said “towels change every day, the room is cleaned every 3 days.” they didn’t change the towels for 2 days. when they finally did, they only put 2 towels. we stayed 7 days. our room should have been cleaned twice. when I said the room wasn’t cleaned on the 4th day, they cleaned it on the 5th day. the windows in the rooms don’t open, so it’s impossible to air the room. android devices can’t connect to the internet. even though I took 3 different devices to the reception and asked them to check, they said the internet was working because their iphone connected (yes, my own iphone also connected, but androids definitely didn’t. even the receptionist couldn’t connect with those 3 devices). personally, I don’t like entering a dark place. at home, I always leave a light on before I go out so I can see things when I enter. so we left one room key inside on purpose. they took the key card we left in the room. when we asked for a new one, they said we lost it and asked us to pay for it.

ドライヤーが借りられると聞き、わざわざここを予約しました。ですが、実際に行くと数が限られており貸せませんと冷たく言われました。髪がオレンジ?ピンク?の明るい色の女性です。 いつ借りれますか?と聞くとチェックアウトする時に持ってくるから今は無理だろうと。 朝の何時頃ですか?と聞くと黒人男性が分かりません、と答えました。 それでは意味がありませんよね。おかげでびしょびしょのまま寝て風邪をひきました。 レンタルできると記載するのであれば、充分な数を用意する、時間制のレンタルにする、貸し出した人の名前と部屋番号を明記し、当日0時までに返させるようにするなど何か対策が必要では? せっかくのアムステルダム旅行が本当に台無し。次の日に泊まったホテルはドライヤーもあり、フロントの対応も良くてここと大違いでした。2度と泊まりませんし、おすすめもしません。

First off the rooms are a bit smaller than the pics but we made it work. There are 3 of us. I did not like the fact that there were stains on the blanket that God only knows what that was. I told one girl about it and nothing was done for that day. I was so tired I knocked out without using the blanket. Next day I told a young woman and by evening time still no clean blanket. I went back down and finally a person brought it up. Just disappointed heavily on that. Other stuff that they missed cleaning were little kids fingerprints all over the window and the mirror had a greasy patch on it. Very nasty place in my opinion as far as hygiene. Staff speak very politely but nothing seems to get done. One last thing was the television not working. On the first day a woman said she would send someone up. All I hear are crickets. I used my phone to catch up on the news and other events going on in town. I'm definitely not booking here again. If your into hanging 3 shirts this place is for you. That's all they have. No closets, drawers or anything to unpack your belongings. 😩

The clear positives are the proximity to the tram which offers good connectivity to the city centre, and the fact that it does offer a minimum that at least is a known value for Ibis Budget. Furthermore, cleanliness tends to be good, though sometimes merely adequate. The rest is the expected window, TV, bed, and toilet/shower, which are all there (nothing should be taken for granted, since the “capsule” concept also exists). On the negatives, there are several minor ones but nothing major that would inhibit someone returning, provided there is a good offer on the rate. Indicative minor issues: - Having a clogged sink is the norm rather than the exception. - Lack of consistency. The quality of some bed mattresses are a bit hit and miss (in the past the upper floors had the mattresses replaced, not sure if this has been completed or some rooms were skipped). Same lack of consistency and a generous definition of acceptable applies for the towels: some are perfectly soft and great, most are just fine, and some are cartoon-like and smelly. - The room is somewhat bare-bone with almost consistently no table and no chair (which of course you can request, but it’s just not practical to have to wait 30 minutes when you check in late at night and intend to stay in the hotel for less than 10 hours) - The personnel can be friendly but it feels like it’s a new team every single time, and it shows. Once I was given a room on the ground floor (so no option of opening the curtains, since people were gathering outside), in front of a door, with ripped off shower gel compartment, smelling piss (probably due to non-use of the drains, since the problem resolved once I thought of letting lots of water flow): when I asked to be moved to a different room, I was given the classic excuse “we are fully booked”, even though several rooms could be booked online, and the issues were dismissed with “what can I do?” and then I was literally ignored by the person who just turned their back and served someone else. - Since it is a large hotel, it can accommodate to groups, including schools, with all that comes with it in terms of noise post-midnight, people gathering in corridors, “pranks” with people knocking on other rooms’ doors. Not a frequent occurrence but it can happen, so keep a pair of earplugs, just in case. All in all, not the best hotel, but not the worst either. While the key word is in the name, it’s an Ibis Budget on the lower scale of the particular brand, and it is probably a fact that the lack of some consistency on the basics is a strategic choice by the local franchise. However, everything has a right price/quality ratio, so acceptable when on a solid offer, therefore it is recommended under the right conditions.
