Beautiful hotel in the heart of Interlaken. The staff were amazing. Extremely helpful and friendly. We had a fabulous room/suite with plenty of room and also had international tv channels so we had no shortage of things to watch.

The hotel has a very good location in Interlaken and is housed in an old building, whose façade was nicely restored. The problem is that this hotel charges rates equivalent to ACCOR’s Luxury category (comparable to Fairmont, Banyan Tree, Sofitel). However, the hotel is very poorly maintained, and the rooms do not meet the standards of that category. The floors, both in the common areas and the rooms, are in bad condition, poorly restored. In the lobby, the doors, columns—everything is scratched and deteriorated, giving the impression of being dirty. They have two types of rooms: modern and historic. I was assigned a modern room. The furniture had no design, with a wooden closet in front of the bed that looked like a meaningless box, scratched and in poor condition. There was an old, small, badly positioned TV, an old sofa, lamps that looked like they came from a dollar store, and a mini-split cooling system (not even concealed in the ceiling) that made noise at night. The materials in the room—carpet, bathroom floors, wallpaper—all correspond to the category of a 2- or 3-star hotel. Additionally, the room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke and women’s perfume. I reported it, but no solution was provided. I cannot understand how ACCOR allowed this hotel to be classified in this category. The hotel is divided into two buildings, and the annexed building is poorly planned. It is actually more practical to enter through the street that divides them than through the lobby. This literally makes you feel like you are arriving at a motel. On top of that, the staircase leading to my room was under maintenance, and during the three days I stayed there, it had a tarp on the steps and a bucket. The area was not closed off (the ceiling was under repair), but the worst part is that in those three days no one worked— they just left the repair materials lying around on the stairs. I asked to speak with the manager to report all these inconsistencies, but during the two days I requested it, although he was supposedly on duty, he was never physically present at the hotel. I had rented two rooms for three nights. I ended up canceling the third night, and I have never felt so robbed when paying for a hotel as I did in this place. I definitely do not recommend it.

Horrible! Smells bad! Old! Dirty!

The hotel is really old, the rooms have very damaged stuff, they also smell bad! Horrible experience! It is expensive! It’s a fraud for the tourist. They make you think you are in a historic building, but they sent you to their “new hotel”, which is next door and is algo old. We had a horrible experience! Don t make this mistake!

Hotel “ ROYAL “ just by its name no doubt ! SHAMEFUL from ACCOR to position this hotel as a MGALLERY as it should be instead a MERCIRE ! Being a Diamond member, no acknowledgment of my status at check in , poorly trained seasonal front desk personal that have no clue what to do, hotel poorly managed … staying here during the peak season, means super crowded hotel which can be expected with a flair being in North Africa or India …. One building has the merit to have its room renovated with AC but they are very bare Breakfast is a total mess as it feels being in SOUK at a Middle East market … so needy with guests having no respects of their environment etc …. I would stay away from this hotel at all cost !!!
