I thought this was an excellent hotel in the heart of central Santiago. It's close to many museums and sights, like Santa Lucia hill, Plaza De Armes, the Teatro, Museum of Fine arts. The hotel is also on the L1 subway (entrance just beside it). The hotel staff were friendly and nice, and tried to accommodate requests like late check out. I stayed for new year's and could see the fireworks at Torres Entel at the hotel. Rooms were very large and clean, with a nice high pressure rain shower. Breakfast was alright, not a lot of choice, but the desserts, fruits and beverages were nice and extensive. The pool was also not the biggest, but there's a nice deck for drinks and socialising. Gym was small and the only weight training machine was faulty. Do note that Centro Santiago is not very safe at night. Although the hotel has ample security - like a guard, metal railings at night, key card system and lots of cameras - I twice found strange figures loitering waiting for me to use my key card in the elevator so they could access the upper floors (which I declined). That said, I would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is located in an area that doesn’t feel safe. You get that feeling when you see the security locking the iron gate after sunset. The rooms are average and definitely do not isolate sound. Probably the only nice thing I liked was the view of the main street. I didn’t also like the bed which had wheels and keeps sliding away from the headboard. It was really uncomfortable. The room wasn’t very clean as I could repeatedly find hair on the bed and even on towels. The staff were nice and try to help. I liked the welcome gift they brought me on my first night for being a gold member. The breakfast was really poor in my opinion and had no variety at all. There was no coffee maker, only blended filtered coffee and milk. If you wanted a cappuccino, you’d have to order it as extra. Thankfully I could at least get an omelette (even though one day for some reason I was told that the kitchen is not offering omelette) I definitely won’t choose to stay there again

Be aware of pricing, it's cheaper to book via Booking or others than direct

Sharing some tips and frustrations here as we booked directly through Accor being an All member and we noticed that prices were higher than through bookings or other platform. On top of that bookings offered free upgrade so we simply ask Mercure to align with same condition, and thought that it would be easy especially as we are loyal members. They could only offer if we were willing to pay. It could be me that do not understand this policy but somehow i still find it strange

The location of this hotel is perfect for sightseeing. It is right next to the metro entrance and walking distance to many attractions and restaurants. The room was large and well appointed. The breakfast was varied and tasty. We'd stay again for sure.

The photos in the app don’t quite capture what the place looks like in person, but the location was perfect and the service truly stood out. Special shoutout to Milena from the front desk—she was incredibly helpful. She assisted me with a last-minute change to my booking date without any extra charges, and also helped me during checkout, allowing a late check-out since I was a member. It’s also worth noting that the staff here speak very good English, which made everything much easier. Would definitely recommend!
