AVOID!! Not a 4* Hôtel - 2 at best. We stayed as a family of three from 27/12-29/12. We were woken up at 5am with a very loud alarm going off through the whole hotel, no one seemed to know what was going on. No explanation was offered. During our stay, the lift broke down, not ideal when you’re on the 7th floor. The WiFi didn’t work and no English channels were on the Tv. No welcome sheet/booklet in the room to tell you how to access and facilities in the hotel. The room door had no secure lock (see photos). The bathroom was in a poor condition. No complimentary toiletries, discoloured toilet and shower. Shower head filled with limescale. Broken ceiling tiles in the room. The whole hotel needs a refurbishment. The hallways are dark and gloomy and the rooms are run down. The bedroom windows are so dirty, it’s hard to see the traffic jams outside. Constant police sirens and flashing lights from just outside the hotel. Three homeless people sleeping just outside the hotel on a dirty mattress. My husband walked to the local shop with our child and was asked if he wanted to buy drugs. We will not be returning to this hotel.

Do not waste your money and holliday

An alarm went off at 5 a.m. A single hotel employee had no idea what to do. People in panic running through the corridor, not knowing what to do. Very poor breakfast. Reception staff absolutely poorly trained. Door key card that doesn’t work. Pillows of terrible quality.

No heat, poor maintenance, and confusion at reception - AVOID

I had reserved a room with "half board" (breakfast and dinner). I arrived at 1 pm to find a very young man, perhaps a teenager, at reception. He advised me that my reservation did not include meals, and that no rooms were available until 3 per hotel policy (I later determined that the hotel was less than half full). I argued, and eventually a woman arrived who said that there was, in fact, a room available, and that I did have half board. The room, however, was freezing cold. I eventually complained and was told that an electric space heater would be sent up right away. When it hadn't arrived after several hours, I inquired and was told that all the heaters had already been given to other guests (apparently this is an ongoing problem). The room was in poor condition - one of the lamps wasn't working and another was flickering, so it was very dark. The equipment in the gym was worn out. It's unfortunate that this hotel is so poorly managed, as the location is excellent for anyone involved with the Philharmonie.

Reasonably priced and has a nice feel to it

Overall an enjoyable stay. The staff were excellent, helpful and caring and the hotel is very well priced compared with more central locations, whilst it is just over the road from the Philharmonie and only 30 minutes on the adjacent Metro to most of the central Paris attractions. For a Mercure hotel, I felt it needed a spruce up, the bedrooms were rather "tired" and basically equipped. Otherwise on the third floor, sleep quality was good, not so great if you are above the restaurant on the first floor. Breakfast was excellent , with a good supply of fresh ground coffee from the machines and both continental and a limited "English" (scrambled eggs & Bacon), plenty of fresh fruit and pastries. Unfortunately the breakfast room was rather cold and oddly only had patio heaters, mostly not working, despite being in doors!

If you want a place just to sleep its fine, but the corridors need updating and refresh, there were odd stains on the carpet. The rooms are a decent size but there was mould near the windows. the shower could not decide whether it was hot or cold, even though it was set to medium hot. the air conditioning did not work. I've had better stays in 2 and 3 star hotels.
