A very disappointing experience for a Pullman. It may be a good choice if golf is all you are there to enjoy.

A very disappointing experience for a Pullman and the money. Our bedroom had no curtains and when moved to another room it was already occupied. Our third room was a justified upgrade. Very poor management and looks run down in places.

I live on the Central Coast & I booked 1 night here as I was attending a Work Farewell Dinner. To be honest, I was extremely unimpressed with my room that I paid over $320 for a Friday night. No housekeeking or breakfast included and a VERY dated looking room.This price was comparable to a Sydney Hotel that I often stay at, yet so below that standard. I would not recommend this Hotel for good valve at all on a Friday night or weekend. Probably highly unlikely I would ever stay again!

Black mould and dilapidated

The room stunk like mould. Had black mould all over the curtains. Dirty marks on walls. Bathroom door was chopped along the bottom and the bathroom floor has stains. Bathroom tiles had pink mould in the grout. The chair had sweat stains on it. The outside furniture didn't match. For $360, it was NOT 5 star. It was 3 star, if that. Gross place. I came away feeling dirty and I felt short changed. Got my money back but wish I had never stayed there. Vile.

What a disappointing stay to say the least. We came through from Sydney for my boyfriend’s birthday to play golf and stay at the resort for 1 night and we were bitterly disappointed with the lack of service and amenities. When we first got to the room, we noticed there were no bottles of water in the room, there were stains in the carpet and our basin tap in the bathroom wouldn’t close properly. The cherry on the cake was breakfast the next morning. We queued for 20 minutes before we were able to be seated and it was evident that there was a severe shortage of staff as the young lady who was seeing to people at the desk kept on disappearing to attend to tables. When we eventually were attended to, we were asked our room number and whether we had breakfast included in our stay (we very much did), as if it was too much effort to check the list of room numbers that would be coming through for breakfast. We were then told to go through and dish food whilst a table is set for us and that we could order coffee in the meantime. The food had very clearly not been replenished throughout the breakfast service and there wasn’t even any bread to toast or juice in the dispensers. We got directed to an open table where there was no cutlery and 1 chair missing. We eventually shared the booth side of the seat and had to take it upon ourselves to get up and ask for cutlery. By this point, 20 minutes had passed and we’d still not received our coffees. It was with this that we opted to just up and leave as we weren’t optimistic that we’d actually ever get our coffees. I’ve never experienced such a shocking breakfast at a resort/hotel in my life and there was a clear lack of urgency, etiquette and attention to quality. My father is a general manager of a Hilton hotel, making quality hospitality something that I am very familiar with. What was supposed to be a celebratory birthday getaway turned into a disappointing and unfulfilling trip. I will never be back and suggest that some deep investigation and introspection needs to take place with regards to staff training, attention to detail and meeting the requirements of ensuring an enjoyable stay of guests.

I have just returned from 2 night stay at Pullman Magenta Shores with my husband and 2 granddaughters. I am an Accor member. I booked a 2 bedrm villa for $974, using 2000 points, paying $ 924 for 2 nights including breakfast. I checked the Accor website on the day we were leaving and discovered there were 3 bedrm villas for $200 less than I paid, so I requested a complimentary upgrade and this occurred which we were grateful for. We were given 1602 villa. I understand villas are individually owned but Pullman management should ensure the villas are adequately serviced and maintained to a standard that is expected from the Pullman brand! Going on a short break and needing maintenance during your stay for heating and basic needs is just not good enough. If they arent working, don't rent it out. For $924 for two nights, we were somewhat disappointed in the accommodation. The unit was very basic and could do with some TLC, it was very cold and we could not heat the villa as the air conditioning was just blowing freezing cold air and there was only one extra blanket among us. We all slept in extra jumpers which was very uncomfortable. I have a severe lung condition and the cold air at night played havoc with my lungs. The dishwasher would not open and we (ourselves) managed to get it working on the last day, we never heard from the maintenance people about it. The balcony doors could not be opened and on the first day the smell of cleaning products was so strong we needed to open them for a short while and the maintenance man had to come in and he advised us that the locks are always stuck. Hello, replace them! We rang reception and went to see reception both days regarding the air conditioning fiasco and were advised on all occasions " we were on the list" for maintenance to attend to it. Unfortunately no one turned up to help with the issue and it remained unusable for the entire stay. Charging 5 star prices and delivering below par accommodation is not good business and is definitely not the standard of Pullman Hotels. It pains me to complain but as I take my granddaughters somewhere every school holidays, this was very a very disappointing holiday. We have stayed in much more luxurious accommodation for the price. The staff on reception continually advised us that Barretts was open Monday/Tuesday evening, yet when we tried to book we were advised by Shallows Cafe staff that the restaurant was not open. Perhaps communicate this with your reception staff? We had to dine at The Entrance on Tuesday evening as there was no kids menu at Shallows Cafe for dinner. The schedule for holiday activities was good, although the "all day games room" consisted of a table tennis table. The staff on reception and at breakfast were lovely. The breakfast was ok with selection of fruit, toast and a few pastries and I mean a few! There was a buffet of hot food which was average and the chef was on hand for cooked to order eggs. You got one specialty coffee and I asked for extra hot, but got lukewarm milk with a touch of coffee, so not sure what a normal coffee was like. The experience was marred by inadequate servicing of the villas especially in view of the price paid. When I rent accommodation I expect the basics like heating to be working! I think there is potential to be a good resort, but management need to ensure maintenance is updated and upheld or do not charge exorbitant prices, it is more worthy of 3 stars.
