I’m really disappointed with my recent stay at Magenta Shores Resort. The location and amenities have potential, but there were several issues that made our experience far from enjoyable. Firstly, we requested a late check-out, which we were sadly denied. We were told that the owner of Unit 72 needed to come in to do some work. Fair enough, but surely he could have chosen a day when the unit wasn’t booked? It felt inconsiderate and added unnecessary stress to our last day. the receptionist did not follow up with the matter. On top of that, the couple who own Unit 70 were incredibly intrusive. The woman was constantly peeking through the fence at us, which was uncomfortable. She even came around to ask if we were owners or renters, and then told us to remove our towels from the balcony because it faced the golf course. Apparently, we should have read the manual (which is news to me because we didn’t realise towels were a violation of the rules). It just felt overbearing, and I honestly don’t think we deserved this kind of treatment. Our Buffet breakfast experience wasn’t any better. I went through the effort of booking a table for five and specifically requested a particular table for the next morning. The lady I spoke to seemed understanding, especially since weekends can get busy. However, when we arrived, we were told that the table I’d requested was given to another group of six. She sat us on a table of six insterad, Why? Apparently, her justification was that a group of six needed a larger table than ours (which was for five). It’s baffling because, if that’s the case, why not give the six-person group the table for six, and reserve the table for five for us? The whole situation just didn’t make any sense and left us feeling frustrated. All in all, I expected a much more relaxed and enjoyable stay at Magenta Shores. Between the late check-out issue, the intrusive neighbours, and the dining mix-up, it was a lot of little things that added up to a disappointing experience. I’m not sure I’ll be returning back at all. The staff need a costumer service training urgently.

On the surface driving in to the grounds past the golf course and the spectacularly maintained gardens, you reach what looks like a club house amongst residential buildings. The clubhouse holds reception, dining, spa, indoor pool + sauna, conference rooms and they are all kitted out nicely in a Hamptons type theme. Restaurant staff were great for breakfast and dinner. Barrett’s food a highlight of meals eaten. Our “studio” should not be sold as such, it’s a hotel room and 3 star at that, hailing from the early 2000’s. A small tv sitting on a bashed up desk and a cheap occasional chair that you sunk down into a hole in the upholstery. They provide plates, cutlery and a tea towel but they expect you to wash up in the bathroom sink. Yuk. Given the mould present in the shower I wonder how well they clean everything. They use the excuse they are an eco resort so don’t provide housekeeping, yet they don’t put fly screens on the doors and windows for you to have everything open for fresh air- instead you use an air conditioner? No welcome amenity for Accor members. Hubby played golf but wasn’t too impressed with the course. Sauna was enormous but takes awhile to warm up. The indoor pool wasn’t heated and the main lagoon pool was closed for the foreseeable future. With no 24hr reception, no housekeeping, state of rooms etc I honestly don’t know how they get their 5 star rating. A big IF I was to return, I wouldn’t book the hotel room, ahem I mean “studio” again.

Lovely golf resort off the M1. Top resort a little off its game lately. Fantastic location and resort with plenty of facilities, unfortunately many facilities under repair and for the price charged the resort room we stayed in needed a good clean or new paint . Beds comfortable and room was clean but well worn. Paid for a sea view - but was “upgraded” to a three room villa which for two of us was way too big and we would have rathered a reduced price if our sea view was not available upon check in. Restaurant options were good and the quality and price was good.

We stayed at Pullman Magenta Shores Resort during the Sep/Oct school holidays and was very disappointed. They ran out of towels, citing the previous public holiday as the reason. The villas are in desperate need of refurbishment, and we found a dead bird outside the outdoor dining area. When I reported it, reception said they would only remove it if the housekeeper was comfortable. This level of service and quality is unacceptable.

Beautiful resort, but surprisingly there is no night team working in the resort!

Beautiful resort, however we are disappointed with the team which couldn’t support a basic requirement from the guest. My kid was unwell and vomit on the quilt accidentally around 11pm. We called through the receptionist to ask for spare one we can change ourselves, because there was no extra one in the room. Unfortunately the lady told us hotel after 10pm there is not staff except security who has no access to any linen housekeeping stuff. I am so surprised to know there is no even one night manager working over the night to ensure hotel and guest in the safe hand. This is a big hotel brand, even airbnb has the emergency contact for guest needs. As a hotelier who works in the industry over 16 years, knowing how bad it would be a hotel with no night team. I would not recommend any friends to stay, because this is hotel basic not put guest as the most important part.
