It was... interesting....I will try my best to avoid this property if I come back to Wellington. This was probably one of the worst places I have stayed in, and I have been to several in Wellington. My recommendation to anyone who is looking at this place in Wellington to seriously reconsider. Cleanliness was a bit of an issue. Location was not too bad. But there are better option close by. Kitchen was there and had a stove but no pots so if you were planning to cook, you are out of luck here. There was no dishwater anyway, and no dishwasher liquids if you want to hand wash so that's a problem as well. I opened the curtains to get some sun into the apartment and immediately closed it because let's just say that it was gross. Okay...lets talk about the chairs and the sofa...oh, that was a terrible experience. I never imagined that sitting could be an experience but this property managed to provide that. Don't sit on them. Essentially the only place you can safely sit on is probably the bed. Heating was a joke, don't come here in winter because it's just going to be unpleasant. Thankfully it wasn't too cold when I stayed here... Essentially, avoid this place. I have been to plenty of places and this one is memorable for all the wrong reasons. Good luck if you do stay here maybe you would luck out and get something much better than what I got.

Major disappointment upon arriving at the Mercure Wellington Central City Hotel and Apartments. The building is very narrow and the lobby is extremely austere. The hallways on the upper floors are dark, narrow, without any decoration or windows, just like in a low-income housing block. The rooms have very poor finishing. There is no furniture, or very little of it, and what there is is badly damaged. The windows are dirty. Nothing indicates that we are in a hotel. The front door handle is awful, with holes around it in the door. The walls are badly repainted. The bathroom is very cold because there is no heating, and the loud ventilation is directly open to the outside, creating an uncomfortable draft in the room. The walls are damaged and dirty. No decorative touches at all. Just a basic shower curtain. The window looks directly onto the building next door, only about five meters away. A portable heater had been placed on the floor in the bedroom. On top of that, we learned that the included breakfast was served in another Mercure hotel, a 3-minute walk away, which had not been mentioned at the time of booking. We had an early ferry the next morning and had to run there with our luggage, which was definitely not ideal. To make things worse, the mattress was uncomfortable and we could hear conversations from the neighboring room. This hotel does not match the usual Mercure standards. It’s more like a shabby, poorly finished downtown hotel. Avoid ! (I’m not somewone who usually leaves negative reviews.)

Reception stuff weren't approachable at all, they all came across very unfriendly. We were told three times that we could extend our stay past 12 for $20 per hr thereafter. We extended to 1pm, and they charged my card $25 without my authority. (it was quickly refunded, once I had emailed them). We were locked out of our room (Key cards deactivated) before 1pm as well and had to get them to reactivate, much to her annoyance. The room was cold, outdated and rundown. There were 3 heaters in the room, only 2 worked. The whole place needs a serious refurbishment, I can't believe that this place is part of the Accor network. It was just a horrible experience and we were very glad to leave.

Prettige ruime kamer aan voorzijde op 1e verdieping. Uitzicht wordt daar geblokkeerd door de luifel, maar voor ons niet erg. Bed erg fijn, badkamer goed schoon, vriendelijke dame aan balie beneden. Auto konden we voor de deur parkeren. Zaterdags vanaf 18:00 gratis tot zondag 8:00. 10 minuten rijden naar de ferry. Perfecte prijs/kwaliteit.

Het 'appartement bestond uit een krappe slaapkamer en een living met een bankje dat uitkeek op een blinde muur en een keuken/schrijftafel. De 'keuken' was een ondiepe kast waarin een koelkast, een magnetron en een plankje met een waterkoker en broodrooster. In de living was geen tv, wel in de slaapkamer. Het was een vreemd appartement, misschien niet bedoeld als appartement. Het bed was niet prettig als je van slappe wiebelige matrassen houdt. Het leek wel een waterbed (misschien was het dat ook). Personeel was aardig. Parkeren in hun parkeergarage is duur (NZ$ 26) terwijl je in garages in de buurt je auto voor 14$ 12 uur kunt parkeren. s' Avonds na 18.00 kun je gratis op straat parkeren, tot 8.00 's morgens.
