The property was in various states of repair, dirty linen cupboards were open and visible, children were running in the corridors on level 2 and indiscriminately knocking on our door. The room was well appointed and well laid out. The room was clean and comfortable. Parking was convenient and it was great to have a Sports Club, Cafe and Room Service available onsite. I can see how this property could be a great stay in the future. Reception was only staffed by one person (which was fine) but necessitated a queue on checking in. Over staffing could create higher room costs, so the wait didn’t bother me and I was on holiday not business on this occasion. It would have more been frustrating if I was tired and I had had a tough day though. Cleaning staff should smile and be more friendly/engaging with customers smile and say hello. Furniture in the lobby needs rearranging (too cluttered) and green wall on entry needs some attention as it looked neglected and thinned out. Again could be a great property but looked a little unloved.

Good morning Thank you for staying with us and providing us with feedback from your stay. I would like to apologise for the unruly kids that kept a number of guests awake. We were eventually able to track down the culprits and provide a stern word to the kids as well as the mother about the impact of their actions. Generally we try to have two staff on the Reception desk most times of the day/night but will keep an eye on schedules against times that our guests are arriving. Unfortunately we are not showing the property at it's best with the construction work happening at the moment and looking forward to September when all of the works are due for completion. Mantra Gladstone is the best Mantra I have stayed at. The reception is well staffed by friendly and helpful staff, the room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. All of the amenities are at your fingertips, and I am looking forward to returning again.

Out of the CBD, the hotel and sports club has everything you need. The room was very comfortable and appointed with all the necessities. Off street parking, two restaurants and a cafe add to the appeal.
