To say I am disappointed with my recent visit to the Mantra in Gladstone is an understatement. Lots of changes there since my last stay 2 weeks previous. If you want to securely park your car now cost $15 per night, if you want to eat in the Bistro now cost $42.90 per person and oh you must book. If you want to have breakfast in the Bistro you must book. Book for 2 nights and your nightly room charge differ, not by much just around $30??? The staff at breakfast were very abrupt and very unhelpful, cause I didn't have a booking. I was not informed at any time during booking the accommodation or on arrival that I needed to book for breakfast. And oh the food was also very ordinary, dinner in the Bistro, breakfast in the Bistro and the Shingle Inn no better. Try the Shingle Inn pumpkin you surely will be disappointed. All adds up to won't be going back any time soon, I have been staying there for many years but last visit has put paid to that happening again.

Have stayed numerous times. I checked in, asked for some fresh milk to my room. Have always got this previously. Told there is a supermarket across the road.😳…thanks for that. Went to park my car underneath where I have all past visits, only to be told I needed to pay $15 for the privilege. I think they forgot this is a small country town, not the city. Just so very disappointed at the attitude. My colleagues have also used Mantra, however after my discussion, this will not be the case going forward. Such a shame.

The room was comfortable although a few things did not work properly including the coffee maker, AC and the clothes line in the shower. We let the front desk know at checkout. We were also disappointed that our request to reserve a cab for our transfer to the airport was not done. Nor was a request for a handheld blow dryer. The staff was very nice but when you expect a car for your airport run and find out no one booked it, it’s concerning. They actually seemed confused as to whether it was called in or not which is even more confusing. It seems like a log and record would be a simple way to track this. The location of this hotel also not ideal but the bar and restaurants on location were very good.
