Lovey villa but guest service not great

We stayed in one of the villas which was lovely, with a private pool. Prior to our arrival I had emailed the hotel three times to ask if we could arrive early and received no replies from any of our emails. When we arrived they were able to amend our booking but it would have been good to know this before we arrived on the island. None of the staff spoke particularly good English and so we had to communicate via an app which was frustrating. Despite booking a room for two adults and two children there was only one bed in the room and they seemed surprised we would need somewhere for the children to sleep. It then took a lot of time (due to lack of English) for us to get any extra beds, we were then told it would cost us 600bht per bed per night which I felt was very expensive and should have been included in the original booking. When I questioned this it was given to us in exchange for us having to pay for breakfast for one of the children. There was a real lack of flexibility in the staffs desire to provide good customer service. Although the room was clean, on two of the days we were there the room was not cleaned until nearly 5pm leaving us without. Clean towels and water for a whole day. The overall hotel looks rather worn and tired and whilst it was quite good value for the villa room with its own pool, the lack of desire to provide a good standard of customer service and the rigidity of everything you asked for needing to cost extra money means we wouldn’t stay there again.

I was very lucky to encounter such accommodating staff during my booking process. Unfortunately I had to cancel due to personal circumstances and the staff were very communicative and accommodating even at the last minute. I would definitely recommend.

- Front desk staff not quite friendly enough and didn’t provide more information when I asked for. I’ve asked for the details of spa package, she just directed me to the spa leaflet stand without any recommendation. - I have ordered a happy hour drink at the beach bar but the staff played Thai music which he asked his colleague to play with his favorite one. - I entered to the breakfast restaurant on the first day and the staff mentioned my stay was not included the breakfast then I showed them the booking email which the breakfast included. The senior staff allowed me to have breakfast first then they ran to the front deck to recheck. The second day, while I was entering the restaurant, again a staff informed me that my stay was not included the breakfast. She suddenly recognized me then she allowed me to have the breakfast. - A housekeeping didn’t change the bed sheet & pillow case on the second day. - I am impressed by the staff around the resort while I was walking in the resort, they greeted me and gave me the information that I asked for.
