Surprisingly great hotel for Ibis family

Was planning a hike to Mt. Kinabalu and my friend selected this hotel as it was close to the train station. I am an Accor Diamond and I have quite honestly not stayed at Ibis hotels. I thought they were quite low quality brand offerings. I have to say I was completely surprised. This hotel is beatiful. I booked an upgraded room and the suite was very well appointed with a comfortable bed. I left very impressed with the bteakfast, the hotel amenities and ambience. Only issue is the location. It is close to the train station as we were going to Mt. Kinabalu but there are just quite local offerings around the area - Kopitiam's, local mamaks and the like. I did catch a Zus and KFC nearby though. I prefer to stay in the city centre but this was a good hotel given we were going onwards to Kundasang and Mt. Kinabalu.

Had a good stay. The hotel that I choose each for each balik kampung trips. Staff are friendly. Amenities can be improve

Stayed 4 nights. I liked the modern and trendy design of the hotel. Room is brightly lit allowing ease of reading at night.

Amazing housekeeping service- special mention to the staff who cleaned promptly and thoroughly- no complaints! And always responsive reception staff providing immediate service upon asking Thankyou Ibis!
