We booked directly on Mercure website. We were on the second floor facing the street with a pub. It was very noisy and at early hours of the morning, there were some shouting. We were so tired, we missed our breakfast. We had dinner the night before which cost astronomical but really basic food and my vegetable was burnt. The bed and beddings are lovely. The room is clean. The staff aren't friendly.

Enjoyed the stay. A few minor complaints which we did not tell reception on arrival but may be orth pointing out to you: Toilet floor wet after our showers - must be a leak somewhere. Toilet seat cracked. No orange juice at breakfast on the second day. No non slip mat in shower - very slippery No soap holder in shower.

Hotel was very nice, room was very nice, location was very nice, staff all great. However unfortunately a very loud constant fan/generator(?) going outside the bedroom window all night long and I'm a light sleeper so couldn't sleep at all. My wife managed to sleep a few hours but for me it was impossible.

The hotel is in a good central location, and has parking available onsite although this sometimes filled up. It is an older building and is beginning to show its age and could do with a refresh. Staff pleasant and helpful

The worst experience of any Accor hotel to date. The exterior is shabby, stucco falling off and needs painting. The room was ovbiously a single with a double bed crammed in, it was tight against two walls, so that access was only from one side, and there was only one small shelf and light by the right hand side. Breakfast was poor - no buffet, but a picnic bag delivered to the corridor with basic roll and cheese/jam, the promised fruit juice was a bottle of water. The was an option of a bacon bap and coffee - if you collected them from reception. We were on the 5th floor, and only one lift was working. The accommodation was much better the previous night in the Ibis at Dundee - for a quarter of the cost.

a great location in central Inverness with very friendly, helpful staff. The rooms appear to be being upgraded as one we had was modern and new whilst the other was clean and pleasant but an older style. Overall a good break location

Good location, tired hotel

Hotel felt tired, the outside is in desperate need of renovation. Covid systems in place but this removed some of the personal service/welcome - we had to wait at reception to check in with no sign of anyone. There was no concierge to help book local trips. Only 1 lift one was working. We'd paid for a privilege room and whilst the size was good, it was very hot and had a small bathroom which also really needed updating.

corridors and stairwell of hotel were really quite mucky. Breakfast was good but overall too expensive for the quality given. I am afraid I would not wish to come again.

A wholesome package

I stayed in the property for 3 nights and enjoyed the same. Location wise it is in the center of everything. The Ness river is two minutes walk, while the railway and bust stations are within 5 minutes. Breakfast was just right - nothing extravagant but wont keep you unhappy.

Our stay in Inverness at the Mercure was OK but only OK. The room was rather tatty (stained carpet etc) and lacking amenities (3 nespresso pods, 2 tea bags), so functional but not exactly 4 star. We booked a privilege room and requested a river view as we had heard the city view rooms were noisy. Our first room was a dark and small room overlooking the A/C equipment with no sight of the river. We moved to a 5th floor room over looking the city which was astonishingly noisy until 3 or 4am. We could only sleep with ear plugs. Breakfast was OK - lots of choice but bizarre discussions as to whether we had booked a slot (we had), Didnt eat at the restaurant and there are lots of fab restaurants in Inverness. Lovely city but wouldnt stay at the Mercure again - OK but definitely not worth the money. Good location for the Loch Ness Etape.

The hotel is very well located in the centre of Inverness. The room (415) seems to lack decent sound proofing. Our room faced church street, which meant Friday night Inverness could be heard from the room, as well as the early morning bin lorries. Another odd thing was the towel rail is unusually high. Literally need to stand on the toilet to reach the top. Considering the price was nearly 3 times the Mercure in Glasgow City centre, it didn't feel worth it. No bottled water for the room or recognition for Platinum status (both recieved in Glasgow). Would stay again purely for the convenience factor to city centre.

Do not get a room on Church St side if you want a good nights sleep. There are several bars on Church St which are open until 3.00 am and at weekends crowds hang around long after that. The sound insulation rating of the windows is completely inadequate.

Don’t be deceived by the ugly outside of the building. Inside is very nice. Make sure you get a room with a river view - this is probably the best hotel view in Inverness. Cooked breakfast is very good and there is a selection of fresh fruit. However one morning there was no Greek yogurt as they had run out and I thought the croissants were not very good. Had two evening meals at the hotel which were both good. Being near the sea there are some very noisy seagulls!

Really a 4* hotel ??

Overall, we wish we had booked elsewhere for this stay. Hotel very much in need of TLC. Reception staff new but supported by an experienced member of staff who needs to go on a Customer Service refresher course - ASAP. Meal over-priced but restaurant staff were attentive and friendly. Room hot and extremely noisy as windows poorly maintained. Mercure website doesn't mention parking payment. Left in morning drained and exhausted. Looking forward to the standard Manager reply - but No I won't ever stay there again.

I will talk about the positives first: Good Location Good Breakfast Excellent views over the river Polite Staff Negatives I am a gold member but received nothing for such membership such as a welcome drink I was given the only privilege room on the third floor when other privilege rooms are on higher floors The bathroom was not clean I had to get somebody up to re-clean the toilet which had been used. No mini bar or fridge in the room I had to request coffee and milk for the coffee machine which looked as if it had just been put on the desk for my stay I had to request an iron and ironing board I am used to these being in the room the same goes for the bathrobes and slippers All in All very disappointed with the privilege room In this Hotel it was not worth the additional cost

Very comfy bed, shower was more powerful than the last time we stayed. Not sure about the square toilet seat, I didn't find it comfy. Didn't eat in so we can't comment on the food. The staff were lovely and friendly, and the covid precautions made the trip very safe.

Moderate hotel

On arrival the outside of this hotel is shockingly ugly but inside it is perfectly acceptable. Car parking is very hit and miss and the marked bays are snug at best, having found a parking space I could only get out of my car by climbing through the rear tailgate.
