Disappointed

Customer review rating 4.0/5

Lot of disruption in the room at night from other guests. Having to book to drink in the bar wasn't ideal and seemed unnecessary, staff struggled to implement regulations.

Front of house staff where pleasant and informative. We ate breakfast both days and the staff couldn’t do enough for you. Clean rooms and hot hot water I would only say handrails to help support you going in and out of the showers would be helpful. Comfy firm beds not everyone’s choice but mine.I slept well. The blackout blind worked a treat. We where asked if we had enjoyed our stay and we did. We encountered no noise from outside but we did stay Mid-week.

Covid rules in place were a farce, river view was a joke looking over heating air con ducts, breakfast was a disater gluten free toast on the same plate as ordinary bread major training issue ??? Clean basic

We stayed in this Hotel 50 years ago on our honeymoon when it was called the Caledonian. Like us 50 years on the outside is looking a bit tired. We had a lovely room with a few restrictions - no robe/slippers and paper cups. But there was never a problem to ask for a supply of things taken out of the room because of Covid. We decided not to have breakfast or meals at hotel as there are numerous restaurants and coffee shops near by.

Experience overall was good but rooms were noisy when pubs and restaurants closed

Good location, but the property requires renovation. Stained carpets, improperly varnished furniture (always sticky), thin doors, and peeling exterior paint. The bathroom had recently been renovated and was nice (although it could use an outlet for a razor). Needs a lot more investment though

Good location but a few shortcomings

Liz Solo - 13/09/2020 Confirmed reviews ALL

The room had a nice view of the river. I was often disturbed by noise from above - sounded like furniture being moved about, which was odd, as my room was carpeted. Bathroom stylish in appearance, but the heated towel rail was so high that I had trouble reaching the top to hang a large bath towel. Shower had 2 heads, and was complicated to operate. Washbasin was so small that it was really only good to wash hands and face. Cooked breakfast was the same every day, which got tedious. Wait staff were very good.

Always a pleasure to stay at the Mercure and despite the covid regulations the hotel provided the usual high standards.

Arrived at hotel, looked ok inside, big room for my husband and myself unfortunately very dated, bathroom tiny but more modern. I didn’t sleep well, woke up through the night choked up so didn’t know if room had been cleaned/hoovered prior to our stay.

The rooms were clean, the staff were lovely & friendly...the food too was lovely...the location was spot on....unfortunately we were in a room overlooking the outside where the staff smoked & chatted...also we were woken at 5am every morning by the bins being emptied..the window didn’t close fully properly ...

After a shocking stay in Edingburgh at the Mercure Princess we were very worried about checking in at inverness. No need as this hotel was excellent, lovely room, great location and parking on site.Staff was also very pleasant and helpful. Will be very happy to stay here again.

Two night stay for a short break away in Inverness. Booked Mercure as member of All'Accor and have stayed there before. Booked a large room and it was a decent size, décor and furnishings a little tired and a refurbishment wouldn't go amiss. Windows open a little, no AC, but expect high noise levels if facing the city from late revellers, delivery trucks and seagulls. Booking required to go into the bar area for a drink so didn't bother. Breakfast in the morning was pretty standard and okay. Face masks compulsory throughout the hotel unless sitting at a table for a meal or drink, sanitising stations readily available.

Outstanding level of service

Brian S. Couples - 08/09/2020 Confirmed reviews ALL

Outstanding level of service from everyone. During this covid-19 we decided to have a 2 night stay in Inverness. The Hotel was perfectly clean and comfortable and the staff organized and arranged everything with military precision. Very helpful and so polite and friendly. Hats off to them all. Our room was great. Bathroom very nice indeed. Just one thing. The hotel should note. At times there are issues with a very slight damp smell within the reception and especially the lower entrance floor. Some Hotels in Europe ha e the fresh fragrance pumped out via the aircon or ventilation system that is subtle but very effective. Mercure should look into doing something like this as slight damp smells can quickly get worse and over power everything. Just a thought. But wonderful stay and would return again. Thanks to you all. Brian & Kim.

comfy stay.

hotel is in a great location, needs a lick of paint outside but the room and every other area we were in was fantastic, no complaints. room was warm, bedroom was large plenty room to move around and relax at night. Car park spaces a bit tight, got nervous watching guests getting very close to other cars when parking and opening doors.
