While there's nothing to complain about the location and rooms , We had to suffer financial loss due to the carelessness of a staff member. They misused the authority to use the credit card to debit the amount of about 325 pounds even though the amount was paid for through the points well in advance while booking itself. They didn't even bother to inform us about the same while checking in or during our stay even when we were physically present in the hotel room. Fortunately for us, we got a timely intimation of the same from our card company and had to approach the reception to ensure that the same is reversed immediately. However, this resulted in us bearing the forex exchange transaction of upto 5% by our bank. This raises serious concerns about the misused authority to debit undue amounts without bothering to check the payments already received and leaving the onus of asking for reversal on the guest who may have already checked out of the hotel and left the country. This is not a practice I would expect from a reputable hotel group whose hospitality I have mostly enjoyed and where I have stayed for almost 50 nights this year being a gold member.

Room was dark and lighting was very poor. (LED bulbs are not that expensive anymore, provide very high lumens and use very little power. Just saying.) Room was outdated and in need of being reno'd particularly the bathroom which still had shower tiles from the 50s/60s. Room was noisy (street noise and I could hear every person walking past in the hallway.) Invest in some new triple pane windows and new, well fitted suite doors and it would make a world of difference. Bed was comfortable but small (double size). Fortunately, I was by myself and could sprawl diagonally across it. Breakfast was excellent and hotel staff were super. Re: value for money - Inverness was towards the very end of a 5 week UK vacation that included 15 nights in London. This hotel room was the most expensive room I had during that 5 weeks and it as the poorest room I had.

Very bad. Poor room layout. Bed far too big for what was obviously a standard size room. Poor design, Poor decor. Poor design of wardrobe, refreshment unit.
