We loved the location, the breakfast and the friendly breakfast staff. Check-in staff were indifferent. The £15 parking charge is outrageous. The hotel corridors and rooms seem very dated, all in need of a refurbishment. The lower ground floor smells of damp.

We enjoyed a short break at the Mercure and as always the staff were wonderful....was so good we stayed an extra night. We love the Mercure, especially Room 303 as my partners disabled and this room is huge with a wonderful wet room. We will be back soon
