Expensive shabby waste of money, avoid.

Probably the best way to approach this hotel, if you find yourself unfortunate enough to stay here, is to treat it as a Fawlty Towers comedy experience. The peeling paint in the small, unpleasant rooms, combined with lipstick marks on the glasses, will amuse rather than annoy. I attended an event where they charged £40 per head for a very mediocre buffet that actually ran out of food. One highly entitled manager seemed to think it was acceptable to swear at unhappy guests, using “f’ing” instead of the full expletive. The only shining light was a brilliant barman who truly deserved to be the manager. My disappointment was echoed by everyone; not a single person in our large group had anything positive to say about this rather shabby hotel. I dislike leaving negative reviews, so I’ll close with a positive note: Cleaning the windows could allow guests to enjoy the incredible views from the higher-level rooms. As others have mentioned, unless you enjoy subpar hotels, you’ll have a much better experience at one of the well-known budget hotels in the area—and save a significant amount of money. This hotel deserves one star, at best. Avoid.

Very well placed, right on Piccadilly. Great views from the bar/restaurant, do perfect for people watching. The staff are friendly and approachable, the drinks are as expected and the food is really well presented. It's a great place to have a drink and watch the city.

Disappointing stay. Reception staff were friendly, but that's where the positives end. Had extensive issues with room assignments, and a long check-in time. Rooms were mediocre, not very clean or modern. Air conditioning was uncomfortable, had a restless night. Constantly had problems with room keys. Wouldn't return or recommend. Not worth its 4-star rating, 2 at best. Avoid.

We arrived at the hotel via the car park entrance but struggled to find the reception area as there was nobody on hand to ask for directions and no signage. After finding our way to the reception, we received a complimentary glass of Prosecco on arrival which was a nice touch however when we checked into the room, we encountered some issues. The room smelt very musty, like someone had been smoking in there. There was an outdated air conditioning system and the heating setting didn’t work properly, meaning the room was very cold. We later discovered there was no hot water in the bathroom. We requested to change rooms which the receptionist kindly arranged and apologised for. When we arrived at the second room, it was an improvement on the first, but the single glazed windows meant we could hear everything outside including traffic, music and people shouting all hours. It was so loud we had to resort to buying earplugs! There were also limited charging sockets in the room and the USB sockets by the bed only worked when the lights were turned on. My partner also used the toilets by the conference rooms after we checked out and found all the toilets were blocked and dirty. The staff were all very friendly and attentive however unfortunately the hotel in general needs a big update. Unfortunately I would not recommend staying here.

I'll start with a few positives: the restaurant was good, with generally a high standard of food in a nice setting, the location was great and the staff were friendly (if unapologetic). But then the negatives: The main issue for me was the lack of hot water - the best I could manage was a lukewarm shower one afternoon, but otherwise the water was very cold, especially in the mornings. When brought up with the management team, I received a response of surprise that there could be such an issue - which was disingenuous to say the least given the number of similar complaints from other guests. The room was also cold with the a/c system unable to provide warm air. The bathroom was not particularly clean, with clear evidence of a previous guest's shaving around the sink area. There weren't any plug sockets next to the bed, just some USB slots in the light fittings, but I discovered these only provided power when the lights were on - so not particularly useful. The conference facilities were also not great, with limited power sockets meaning extensions leads were daisy chained together and a HDMI cable into the projector caused a trip hazard. The negatives outweighed the positives and I cannot recommend this hotel!
