Very friendly and helpful staff, a lovely location and a great hotel We stayed for 2 nights as part of my partner Annette's 70th birthday party, held in the hotel's Lakeside Suite, and we could not have had better support from the hotel staff, including the event team, front-of-house and catering people. The hotel is a lovely building and the suite is a great location for events such as ours - thank you to the whole team!

Clean and comfortable

Around 15min away from city centre, this lovely property is very quiet and peaceful. For us, it was a last min spontaneous trip to Gloucester (to visit Moomin at the museum the next day), so we checked in here. Kai at reception was very helpful. Thumbs up 👍🏼. Lobby, nice. Check in and check out, swift. Room, dated but clean and comfortable. Beds, very comfortable. We had a good sleep. Dinner, it was alright. Not bad but not great. Lovely garden around the hotel. No elevator, so those with heavy luggage’s be aware. Not a deal breaker. Did we enjoy our stay? Yes. Do we recommend? Also a Yes. Area of improvement? Clean the fans you provide to clients. Very dusty. Ours was very dusty.

We have just returned from a couple of nights at this hotel and we could not fault it. We took our dog so we had a ground floor room and there was a really handy fire escape just around the corner from the room which we could take the dog in and out without disturbing people. We chose it because it was dog friendly and we used it as a base to discover Gloucester and the Cotswolds, etc. The decor of the room was in keeping with the age of the hotel and everything was spotless. We had everything we needed, including a welcome pack for our dog. We only ate at the hotel one of the evenings as we wanted to be out and about exploring, but the meal was lovely. We paid for breakfast for both days and breakfast again was lovely with a big choice of cereals, fruit, full English, and Continental. Staff on reception were welcoming and friendly, in fact all staff at the hotel were but a special shout out goes to Tina in the restaurant at breakfast time. Because we had the dog, we couldn’t sit in the actual restaurant however it’s all open and we literally just sat at the far end in the lounge area where others had chosen to sit anyway. Parking is plenty and the grounds are lovely. I know personally I can be quite critical, but I wouldn’t find anything to fault with this hotel and would definitely come back again.
