A GREAT CONCEPT - BUT THE ROOM FELL SHORT OF EXPECTATION

Loved the location, and the staff are excellent, creating a funky vibe, but sadly unlikely to stay again due to being simply being unlucky with the allocated room (401) ( 1 - 4 AUG). Its in the internal well of the building & the constant burring of the external AC or whatever it was, meant we had to close the window (no view anyway) & it felt like being on a boat & we eventually got mildly claustrophobic. Also the very thin under felt like floor covering was very heavily stained & badly needed a deep steam clean. Hands up did I complain - no - because the British rarely do at the time. I myself loved people watching from the safety of lobby area, and the free tea & coffee is a very nice touch. Make sure you park in the NCP & that you collect your 'second ticket' when checking out. The breakfast buffet was OK, but nothing really special.

Great hotel. Excellent location. Stayed 3 nights last week and will definitely be back. The only fault we found with anything was we had to shower down the shower to remove the hairs!!! before we could shower and also the extractor fan don’t work. The breakfast was continental and it was excellent so much to choose from well worth the money. The staff were very good and helpful, will absolutely be coming back thank you.

Always a winner

I stayed here over 2 mid-week nights in a 1st floor front facing Premier room and it was a very quiet stay. Lovely bright spacious quirky room with a big comfortable bed. The air con was great. Staff are lovely and work hard. The evening meals are good value and served promptly. The continental buffet breakfast also includes baked beans and scrambled eggs. It does get very crowded though, as this hotel caters for foreign coach parties, usually only staying for 1 night. The location is handy for rail and bus connections, shopping and night life.
