I can freely say that it is The Best Sofitel hotel I have ever visited in Europe and one of the best in the world. The rooms are comfortable, elegantly decorated and the blue details match the sea view. The Tendiez restaurant had great food and service. But, Irene and Gabriel, were the team that won me over and to whom I give most of my the 5 star rating :) Their care, attentiveness, professionalism and charm were praiseworthy. Also, I would like to thank the wonderful concierge (a dynamic small white man, with a little less hair, didn't see his nametag :) that saved my expensive shoes. The staff went out of their way to help me when my luggage was sent to Washington DC, under another person's name, and I had a LOT of difficulty getting it sent to me in Barcelona. I will describe my experience at this hotel in Pros and Cons: PROS: *I had a standard queen room with a balcony, overlooking the pool. The room was well appointed, had necessary amenities, mattress and pillows that were very comfortable, and a cabinet that had snacks, coffee/tea, etc. First class items. I felt very pampered. The room was quiet. Spotless!! *The city Hop On/Hop Off bus stops across the street from the hotel, which is very convenient for getting to city center, gothic quarter, and the Sagrada Familia. *Hotel located on the beach, but not really beach front. However, once on the beach, there are miles of beach to walk, with many beachside seafood restaurants (casual.) *Breakfast was the BEST I have had in a hotel, or cruise ship!! The price seemed high, but I found it was worth every penny! don't skip breakfast there! Plus, I did not find many places around the hotel to get a good breakfast *If you are cruising, the hotel is very close to the port. No need to pay the cruise line for a transfer, as taxis are available to take you to the ship, and less money. CONS: *The beach is not the nicest, though I was there in September, so summer may be better. *The balcony was small, and the view of the pool was extremely limited. The room was non smoking, but the balcony wasn't, had ashtrays, and smelled of cigarette smoke, even though it was outside. I think it was because it was a small balcony. *T.V. only had news stations, from around the world, but only news. *There is no on site shop for toiletries, snacks, and other small items. In fact, there was no shopping near by, at all. Since I was there with no luggage for four days, that made an impression on me. If you don't need a little shop, then it won't make any difference to you. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel, and would return, or send my family there. Alerted hotel the next morning with video showing the leak. JULIA who is the Supervisor deserves a special call-out ❤️🙌🏻; she totally won us over with her warm smile and genuine concern for our well-being & comfort during our stay. Her caring and thoughtful gesture, with a personalised touch really won us over; things like : sending warm water, honey, ginger and herbal tea-bags to our room, when she noticed we had a sore throat : spoke a lot about her excellent customer service, with a personalised touch. The rooms looked brand-new and spanking clean, freshly furnished with each and every “detailing” in place; every tiny amenity a guest would normally require in a 5 star hotel room, was present. Specially Marie, in house-keeping was very efficient & she made sure the room was clean and comfortable. The staff present during breakfast every morning were most hospitable. The hotel embodies understated elegance, combining sophisticated design with a serene Mediterranean atmosphere. The rooms are beautifully appointed, impeccably clean, and exceptionally comfortable. The location is exceptional—just steps from the beach yet close enough to the city center to explore Barcelona with ease. Hint for Barcelona FC fans – there is a city bus departing right from the hotel and taking you to Camp Nou in 20 minutes. Tendiez restaurant has an outstanding team and Michelin star deserving cuisine. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide selection of high-quality options including eggs and omelets on order. The service truly sets this hotel apart. Every member of the staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our stay memorable. From a seamless check-in to thoughtful concierge recommendations, the hospitality was flawless. Yulia and Nora at the front desk, Audrey, Marta, Olga, Hallar, Gabriel and Maxime from the resrevations and Guest Realtions. And all the rest, whose names I was not able to identify. You were all terrific! Thank you very much!

My stay was short but extremely comfortable. Every detail in the room had been carefully thought out in advance. Very recommended.
